Default Your home state ,city ,etc.

What areas in your home state or city would you recommend to someone to vacation in ?

Most people who come to NYC go to Manhattan .I always tell people that they should see the other boroughs as well .

For $5 they can take a bus from virtually any part of Manhattan into Brooklyn ($10 roundtrip) .

The same can be done for the Bronx .
If they desire to go to Staten Island ,the cost is FREE by ferry .

I also highly recommend Montauk Point in Long Island and the Hamptons ,both accessible by train at a nominal cost .

I can tell anybody whee to go, but in fact, have not been to all myself..

Cape Cod/Provincetown

Marthas Vineyard/Nantucket

Cape Ann

The Berkshires

We live in a beautiful country, and I bet I am not alone in not seeing nearly enough of it.

Being born and bred in New Jersey, I would recommend that every American visit the Statue of Liberty and Ellis Island, which was not too far from where I grew up. Because I thought I would always have the chance to go there, I made no effort to go until I was past fifty! We all came from immigrants seeking a better life in this country and one should see the history of their journey! As Emma Lazarus so brilliantly quoted "give me your tired, your poor!
