Default It's Sunday Aug. 7th

Good morning from a beautiful Texas, where we will see cooler temps today. We are only suppose to reach 105, which is a big improvement.

I am up early this morning, because a plane carrying troops flew over the house around 2:00. At first I was disappointed that I had been awaken, but soon realized that I was one of the lucky ones, to be able to welcome them home.

This morning as they wake they are not PFC so and so but Daddy, brother, husband, or mommy.

I remember those days when Jim would come home, and have babies that didn't really remember him. They would play with him, but if they needed anything they came to me.

Unless you are military, or have been, you will never really understand what these people go through.

Because they did such a good job, you will never know what terrorist they kept from your front door. They allowed you to sleep in peace last night, because someone had to watch over you.

As you wake this morning, take a minute to thank those you have given for you. Add them to your prayers, and smile with a tiny tear in your eye, as you think about the little boy waking up to go and check to see if Daddy or Mommy really came home, and not just another dream.

I hope all of you have a good day. Please remember to count your Blessings.

Love,

Luanne

G'Morning Mates, from beautiful downtown Lakeland, Florida.
Well said Luanne! God bless our troops!
Not much going on today around here. The high is supposed to be 91 degrees,,cool by Texas standards. I think the lovely Mrs. Jones (Vita) is going to mow the lawn this afternoon, so that'll keep her out of trouble for a couple of hours.
Hope y'all have a wonderful day.

Hi Kids,
Warm cloudy, with showers today....a change of pace for us here. I saw the woman onthe news from Texas, who bruned her feet, while wearing flip flops..it's just amazing, for so many!

Yesterday we went to a barbeque for the graduation of my Granddaughter's boyfriend...such a nice kid and a welcoming family. Funny how we met relatives of my son in laws family ther too..such a small world. Today I am going to the baby shower for one of my other Granddaughters, she is making me a Great Grandmother, or GG, as I want to be called

Luanne, watching the news this morning, and hearing about the Navy Seal incident, your heart just breaks. All these heroes need to come home, and please G-d it will be soon.

Make it a good one.

Thanks for that, Luanne. My husband is in the Air Force, and got back a few months ago from a deployment. It really is hard to explain what that is like, but you did it very well.

On another note, we get back home today after a month! So ready to be in my own house, even if it is 100 degrees.

Morning Mateys, from someone who is living an upside down world - I was awake all night till 7:30 a.m. then slept in till 11:00.
Since I was up at 4 am I decided to watch a show that I was taping on TV. Please check your local PBS listings TODAY for a special called JUSTIN HINES "Days To Recall".

PBS is calling him a newly discovered singer songwriter, but I have been faithfully following his career for over 4 yerars now. Justin is a physically handicapped, but ultimately positive soul, who writes beautiful lyrics and music and has a wonderful way of making everyone comfortable around him. He also supports many charities and inspires many people to do more with what they have. He is a truly remarkable human being. His first PBS special was AWESOME!
You can check him out at: http://inmusic.ca/artists/artist_fea...s/justin_hines

Well my day is a blank page today. No volunteering, no plans other than reading another book. Yesterday was crazy busy at the ship, we even had 2 busloads of wedding guests with all the men dressed in kilts, come in for wedding photos! It was quite the sight!

Luanne, I just wanted to say you did a very good job with what you tried to express this morning. These folks deserve our support and respect. Love to you and Jim.

I am in complete agreement.

I pray that Jim and all of our brave people in the Armed forces come home soon.

Good morning! We've been spared the big hea because of a marine layer, so it's been pleasant here in SoCal. Hot all week, though, in the high 90's.

The coffee just got made, and Keith is reading the paper. I might have a peak at the comics before I fix breakfast.

Have a pleasant Sunday.

Good morning! We signed the contract for the new house this morning. Next step is to go to the design center to finalize colors and other details.

Luann I agree wholeheartedly! God bless our troops and their families.

Our wounded warrior is recovering slowly at Walter Reed, Please keep PFC Derek McConnell in your prayers.

Our granddaughters are growing up fast. The triplets are 2 1/2 yo tornados and Natalie is 1 1/2 and growing up fast.

Everyone have a great day!

‎31 lost, 31 unwanted visits, 31 doors receive that dreaded knock, 31 families with shattered hearts, 31 pairs of boots lined up with rifles and dog tags and helmets, 31 comrades remembered and grieved for, 31 funeral services, 31 names on newly made grave markers, 31 empty places at the table, 31 souls who gave all, whose lives leave a void, so let's take 31 seconds to re-post this and pause to reflect on such a sacrifice as 31 gone forever. RIP.Your families are in my prayers

This was posted a few minutes ago on my husband Jim's face book page. I know that some of you do not do Facebook, so I thought I would share.
