My Barbie dolls. But we didn't have the money for all the accessories, so my Barbie drove a shoe box. I made chairs out of empty toilet paper rolls, and a water bed out of the plastic that was on the Sunday papers. My friends brother had some GI Joes, so my Barbie dated one of them and they took his Army Jeep!

And my roller skates were probably my favorite thing.

Barbies and paper dolls were my thing, but does anyone remember Colorforms? I used to love those and now can't find them anywhere for my daughter.

My favorite was my beat up old bike. Always outside riding that thing someplace with my buds.

My least favorite were those paddles with the ball on a rubber band my grandma always brought me on her visits. I knew in short order that rubber band was gonna break, and the paddle would begin its second, longer life whoopin' my back-side. I remember one time hugging my grandma when she showed up and telling her she "REALLY DIDN'T HAVE TO BRING ME ANYTHING".

Default Childhood Toys

Interesting you should ask that, painful, too, in a way.

I remember a doll baby buggy. I used to dress up the cat (or tried to!) I discovered some old prom dresses. I loved to dress up in them! But I think what I remember the most was an old windup Victrola and Bing Crosby records. One was "Blue Hawaii."

I remember roller skating, too, with Sandra. Sandra died, much too young, of cancer. She always wanted to lead the band, and sure enough, she did. She was a cheer leader, too, I think.

For some reason, I immediately thought of "Fly-Back". I think it was printed on the paddle.

When I was a toddler, I was in a toy shop & wouldn't leave without this Airedale dog on wheels, when Mum died a couple of years ago my brother & I found it in her wardrobe, probably been there for 50 years.

My favorite toys when I was very young were "Dinky" toys (small cast metal truly detailed replicas of English vehicles including military vehicles). They even had rubber tires (or, in the case of the Centurion tank, rubber treads) that could be removed. They'd undoubtedly be worth a lot of money today but I've no idea whatever happened to them. I don't even think they're made anymore. My twin and I had race cars, an English Taxi, probably well over a dozen different vehicles. We really must have been indulged because even back then, they certainly weren't cheap.

My bike of course was my favorite toy. Also I loved my Tiny Tears doll and my Ginny dolls and hula hoop. This was way back in the 50's.

I hope I'm not "run out of town" , but my favorite's were books .

I also had an early Barbie Doll (1958 ), but didnt' really care for it so much. I wasn't into dolls at all .

I enjoyed my bicycle, too. We were let loose to explore all nearby areas on our bikes! No one gave us any limits. (This would NOT work today!)
