Default Freedom of the Seas dress

Someone I know is flying out to join this ship, a bit concerned about dress codes, I have looked at the website which seems to suggest there are casual, smart casual & Formal....are these observed these days?? & how formal is "formal"

There should be 2 formal evenings on Freedom of the Seas, suit for the guys and nice dress for the ladies will do. Personally, I would just have casual for the rest of the evenings, forget the jacket. With all the weight restrictions for flying these days, I try to limit what ever I can...

Hi John,

Just got off FOTS. While the CD still refers to it as "formal night" ... the compass refers to it as SMART CASUAL. IT's a full mix of tuxes, suits, shirt&tie, and shirt no tie. I saw it all.

Thanks Donna! I'm still trying to collect my thoughts on Freedom. We all had a good time, but the week went by sooooo quickly. It seemed like there was toooo much to do, and we wanted to do it all. We're still trying to pick "our" cruiseline. So far, I think it may be going to "HAL" .... but we'll wait till after we cruise Disney in March to decide, where we want to start accruing loyalty. We made "Platinum" this cruise though, so that was good .... especialy since that brings a balcony discount. We had our upgraded balcony, and YES, we got spoiled
