It's Saturday morning and the start of a beautiful weekend here in Pictou County, as long as Katia stays out to sea....
I never did get out shopping yesterday, so that is in the plan for today. I really need a new, bigger binder, since my after school registrations have grown from 16 to 27 it is literally bursting at the seams! So much paperwork...
Tonight, James and I are both on duty at the Ship, for the last evening shift of this season, after which we will walk across the street for dinner at the fabulous Thai restaurant.
I had never tried Thai food before, but love it now, as long as I stay away from the spicy stuff!
Good Morning RD and all to follow. Nice morning here in Lakeland this morning. I need to get out and shop this morning. Maybe a trip to the pool after lunch. Not sure on that yet. I do know I want to get outside today. RD I love Thai also. W have a restaurant called Spice Thai here iand it is very good. Have a wonderful day.
“Twenty years from now you will be more disappointed by the things that you didn’t do than by the ones you did do. So throw off the bowlines. Sail away from the safe harbor. Catch the trade winds in your sails. Explore. Dream. Discover.“
Beautiful start to the day here. We are in the little town of Beach City, Oh. doing a square dance campout weekend. It was in the high 90's yesterday and due to be more of the same today. I'll take it because what is going to be coming soon I don't care for...cold weather. We have almost the entire campground filled with camper and dancers. Had a great time last night visiting with friends we don't see often. This afternoon we are going to do some site seeing as this is Amish country. I've already read up on things in the area and one place I am definatly hitting is the wine shop. I've been there before and they have such a great selection, mostly Ohio wines, and my supply is getting low. Will replenish it today!
Donna have a great day at the Hector and dinner tonight. Sounds like so much fun. Maybe someday I'll get up that way to visit. You have made me want to see the area.
Laura, enjoy your weather. The pool sounds like a good idea.
Good morning Just waking up and having my coffee. Last night my friend and her hubby went down in to the city for frozen custard and to see some of the city sights. We wants to see the huge Marilyn Monroe statue on Michigan ave and then to Grant park a ride down Rush St., I have to say the city was jumping! I always forget what a beautiful city I live in.
Not too much going today, we have a get together tomorrow at my brothers house.
Have a happy and safe Labor Day weekend!

Morning all. Just having my quiet time. The teen got in sometime in the wee hours after going to an away game last night. It was the first game of the season. She is in the marching band. She plays tuba/susaphone and is in the flagline. This is her senior year. Shopping is on the agenda today. Got to buy groceries. Other than that it's just the same old thing. I hope you all have a wonderful day.
I guess we're going to cool off and get a lot of rain from the storm coming ashore in Louisiana. We really could use the rain. I'm only sorry that (at least as of last night), Texas didn't get more of it (Ihave yet to check today and have to get over to the Post Office before they empty the outside letter boxes. Today it is going to be in the mid to upper nineties here as well.
I'm getting together with Beenie-Weenie and family here in Greeneville for supper as they're coming through. Am so looking forward to it! Seems I'm seeing almost as much of them recently as my own family but of course, as are all of you, they are truly part of my family.
Am happy to report that Ray is coming along as well as can be expected at this stage. It just takes a lot of time but as the saying goes "Time heals all wounds." That's not really that true but at least time allows you to recover if not completely. Neither Ray nor I will ever completely recover.
A happy Labor Day Weekend to all and I hope Katia stays away!
Still no power for over 35,000 customers here on Long Island. I'm doing fine.
Soon will be heading to my husband's fishing club for their annual Summer Family Party which was postponed from last Saturday. Lots of good food, including lobster as prepared by my husband. As he says, I can only cook one dish, lobsters, but they have to be for at least 80 people. They always come out perfect.
