Default Do you ever wonder ?

If you read a poem do you ever wonder what the poet was trying to convey to the reader ?

The same question can apply to a book .Is the author writing to delight the reader or is there something more that she or he had in mind ?

I happened across an interesting poem in a literary magazine that I am going to print here and I'm wondering what you think the poet is attempting to tell the reader .I will give my point of view later on .

MOVEMENT

He looked around and saw her laugh
the woman with her lover
She has a way of knowing
the world is hers to love
Moving through life
like waves hitting the sand
she met him in the hallway
and held him with her eyes
The wind got louder
the earth disappeared
His heart lost its vision
as he awoke from his dream

I copied this exactly as it appeared in the magazine .The fact that some lines begin with capital letters and some not may be something that the poet wants the reader to figure out.

Whenever I read a poem ,short story ,book, etc ,I always wonder if the author is looking for different interpretations of her or his work.

Henry, I am old school or , perhaps, just old, but my kind of poetry rimes and has meter. It also has a clear meaning unllike the thing that you posted. My verses are written for my own enjoyment, and I hope that they please some of those who read them.

My interpretation of the poem I posted is that the poet wants the reader to determine if its a dream or reality .
