Default Congratulations to the St.Louis Cardinals

A friend of mine ,a resident of Houston has been a Houston Astros season ticket holder as long as I can remember . He became after awhile friendly with a lot of Astros players and one in particular ,Lance Berkman . My friend said that Berkman is one of the nicest people he's ever known .

I was rooting for the Cards because of Berkman and Albert Pujols . My friends living in Texas were not .

I really enjoyed game 6 - error strewn but exciting.

If you can go out on top, that's what you should do. He could, and he did. Terrific stretch run and post-season for the Cards. And a great baseball town with some of the best and most knowledgeable fans anywhere. Good for them.

And a big thanks to the Tigers for dismissing the Yankees. That set the tone early for a fine post-season.

I am thrilled that the Crankees were not in the WS . The Cardinals have a history of great players such as Stan Musial and Bob Gibson .
In 1994 I was a volunteer with the Make A Wish Foundation .It was my task to contact retired baseball players and try and get them to appear at a fund raiser . One of the people I called was Red Schoendeinst .He was not able to appear due to illness but he offered to send signed items that we could auction .We expected a few items ,he sent a crate ,filled to the top .
