I was so distraught to learn that a close friend who is an employee of my Niece DeAnna's husband's pawn shop was shot to death in what I am guessing was a robbery attempt, although I've yet to learn.
Larry, the employee and close personal friend was on duty waiting on a couple of customers when a customer asked to see a shotgun. Larry handed it to him and the guy reached into his pocket, and chambered a round.
He then shot Larry in the neck and ran out the door. The owners (my niece's husband, put five forty caliber rounds through the window and managed to hit the shooter).
Larry died in my niece's arms, much in the same manner as she did to me.
This was one of the finest most concerned folks I'd ever met. I am so so distraught if I couldn't have prevented the original attack, the shooter would have never made it past the front door I assure you! There would be pieces of him splattered all over the highway outside.
Now a totally innocent man is dead and for what?
For those who think I'm violent, let someting happen to someone dear to you!

Todd, I am so very sorry that Larry lost his life in such a senseless way. All thoughs and good wishes to you and yours as well as all of Larry's other family and firends. I hope Lucky slowed him down and they catch him.

I can say I know how you feel but I've never been in this situation directly .I do know ,however ,how you are feeling as I heard it in your voice this evening .
Todd, I am so sorry that had to happen to your niece's friend. There is simply too much violence in the world today. I of course am sending prayers to all involved.

I am so sorry to hear about this senseless death. I know how it is to wonder why. In the mid-nineties my brother-in-law was killed in a convenience store robbery. The reason was that he wasn't getting the money out of the register fast enough. He was working a second job to take my sister to Hawaii for their 25th anniversary. They never went.
My condolences to Larry's family, friends and you.
Take care,
Mike
