Default Welcome to the spinner stage

I really only wanted to bring my 25 inch case instead of the 29 inch one. So as I begin to look at what I’ll be packing I’m thinking my suitcase is going to be stuffed so I dragged out the big old 29 incher that we bought 18 years ago and it’s looking its age. So off I went and purchased a new Samsonite 29 inch spinner suitcase. She’s extra pretty!!! I can’t wait; we leave 2 weeks from tomorrow!!

I just bought a new one this summer, and it is already falling apart. I am thinking of going big to, and this time a good brand. You did good...

I can't keep my 29" under 50lbs so we usually stick with the 26" and a couple of 22", We have a garment bag we can bring too (usually weighs in at 40lbs) but haven't brought recently since all of our cruises have been casual.

Default Welcome to the Spinner Stage

I've wondered how the new bags do with luggage charges. Both Keith and I have large Travel Pros, and I wonder what they will cost on airlines other than Southwest. My old Hartman, although smaller, has little bitty wheels and falls over. Too annoying to grapple with on a trip, other than by car.

Would appreciate knowing how my CruiseMates have done with their luggage, old and new.

I just bought LL Bean Rolling Duffels after a friend at work who cruises regularly recomended them to me. The Large when fully packed is usually just under 50lb. It seems to a hold a lot more than luggage a similar size since it is flexible. They also have extra large, but I was worried about the weight. The Medium is a good size, but can still be used as a carry-on for most airlines. Oh, and they can be customized with a name or initials for a few more bucks!
