Henry,

I have one from 1942 and had a family friend years ago that every issue from the time it was printed. To this day I subscribe to the NG.

Years ago, when I was a teenager I found a trunk full of Live magazines from the early forties. I don't know whatever happened to them but I remember this one story.

Lionel Barrymore was playing a very serious part, when a fire engine went past the theater with it's siren screaming. He turned to the audience with a dead panned look on his face and exclaimed, "My God, there goes my wife!!" It brought down the house!

I spent 2 years working for Life Magazine and at one time I had every copy of every magazine they published for that 2 year period .

I also have copies of several magazines that went out of business after just one issue .
