Do you ever cruise without your spouse ?

A woman that I know told me once that her husband hates cruises .She loves them and therefore sails with several friends once a year .

I have never vacationed without my wife .

I have been away twice, once I desperately wanted to go the the Maldives, a deal came up but she said ''if you want to go that much go on your bloody own!!'' Same year we had our usual holiday to Barbados booked & she said she just didn't want to go, so I rebooked alone, loads of people I knew so it didn't matter that much....it wasn't the same, I have not done it since & won't again.
She was going though ''a change''.....

Whenever Mrs. TM goes on a vacation, she allways takes me along. After all someone has to carry the baggage.

My DH likes to cruise, PROVIDED its A) at least 6 months since the last one B) doesn't last more than 2 weeks C) doesn't have too many sea days D) goes somewhere he hasn't been yet and E) doesn't go near anywhere he considers politically unstable.

So about half of my cruises have been without him. I've gone solo a few times, and twice with my brother and his wife, and three times shared with an until-then stranger. Had a great time on all of them.

John, really, the change??? oy/lol... I think if one spouse doesn't mind, by all means go off and do your own thing, and enjoy.....I went to the Med with my girlfriend, and, have been to Florida, many times on my own.Would I like Bruce to go, sometimes...doing your own thing, can be a nice change..no guilt!

I said "a change"
When I went it was basically awful at times, you see something & want to turn & say "see that?" Table for one with a book. Just not the same we have never done it since. She has had long weekends at European Dog show events but apart from that & she also went camping with doggy friends that was it. I certainly won't go on my own.

I've been on two cruises, one with and one without. I enjoyed the one without much, much better for the simple reason that my other half is a grouch. I plan to cruise without every chance I get.

I know what you mean, I find it's the only time we actually DO stuff together. Our day to day life is just work or doing other stuff that HAS to be done.

The difference for some is, they may go without a spouse, but not be alone. My trips tp Florida,I went for visits. Before the bloody volcano erupted, that trip to England, I was going to be going alone, although I tried and failed to find a fellow traveler.I was a bit unsure, but, looked forward to it.

I don't want to go anywhere on my own, just not me. My brother always has, been everywhere on his own & has made friends (& ex-wives!) all over the place.

As everyone knows, March will be my first cruise without Fran. At least Ray will have one "under his belt." I guess the best way to put it is that although I'm looking forward to it, I'm apprehensive because we were exceptionally close for forty years. I'm still not used to living alone and it will be a long time before I am. I ran out of Celexa and figured I didn't need it any more as it had been over a year. WRONG! Jeff told me I'll be on it for a long time. Really shouldn't complain though as by rights, I shouldn't even be here myself after the events of earlier this month.

I've cruised a number of times without Mrs. Kuki, but with her often enough that she isn't suspicious when I cruise with my girlfriend

I can't imagine taking any kind of trip without Keith, except to the mall!
