Default Cowboy hat poll

Okay I'm watching the NFR and Jennifer Smith has been wearing the coolest cowboy hats I have ever seen. So I thought a cowboy hat poll would be fun.
Cowboy Hat A

Cowboy Hat B

Cowboy Hat C

Cowboy Hat D

Cowboy Hat E

Default Cowboy Hat Poll

I just love cowboy hats! My DH has owned a Stetson for years but never wears it. It's way too big for me.

I liked cowboy hat D.

Dunno but my wife brought one back from Denver it's a bit too small though, it looks like a pea on a billiard ball.

I wish I could have find a side view of A. That was the first one that really caught my attention. I love the National Finals Rodeo I watch it every year.

I prefer a traditional white (off white) felt hat.

Of those shown, I like "A" (isn't that a surprise).

A little correction though. People call western hats Stetsons but in fact, Stetson was a major hat manufacturer (may still be for that matter). Many manufacturers made western style hats (including of course, Stetson). Of all the hats made for businessmen back when they all used to wear hats, even in the East (old films from the thirties through the 40's present a perfect example) when most men wore coats ties and hats to work, the most respected manufacturer was arguably Stetson. I sold many of Stetson brand buisness hats back in the early sixties when as a youngster, I worked at a Men's Store here in town.

My favorite version are the styles worn by many state and local law enforcement agencies and are the off white felt versions such as Mark mentioned. They're rather flatter brimmed than the western version. They're trade marks of many agencies, especially the New York State Police and the Virginia State Police and Lord knows how many others. Tennessee Highway Patrol officers wear a WW I flat brimmed "Campaign hat." It's a "Smoky the Bear" and I don't like them.

The lovely Mrs. Jones (Vita) just bought me a "Frank Sinatra" style fedora, and in shopping for that, we noticed lots of that type hat, manufactured by "Stetson", so I think they are still alive, and very much kickin'. (VERY pricey too!) Anyway, I couldn't decide between "C", and "E", but I finally decided on "E". All are very nice, but I think that one is my favorite.

I voted for C because I think it would go with so much!! You could wear it with some boots and Wranglers, or with some cute skinny jeans and heals! I also happen to love purple.....

It's been a while since I did a poll. I saw those hats and I had to find the company that makes them. After I saw all the different ones a poll made sense.

Interesting information on the western style hats and Stetsons. None of the hats in this poll are Stetsons these are all made by a company called Charlie 1 Horse Hat Company. I had never heard of this company until I researched it Jennifer Smith (Stan Smith's wife) she one of the announcers for the NFR she was wearing a different hat from this company each night. I was thinking of getting one. Sadly the ones above are out of my price range they do make so straw hats I can afford.

Now I know that it's for woman I voted for D. I initially looked and thought "I wouldn't be caught dead in any of these."

My Son-In-Law brought me a "Crocodile Dundee" type of hat from Australia. It isn't as ornate with crocodile teeth as Dundee's was but it is a nice hat and actually can't be considered a cowboy hat.

I have a Resistol hat I bought a couple of years ago and wear it once in a while. Cabelas still sells it.

Mike,

I rarely wore a hat, even in uniform and regardless of the weather. But the one hat I really loved (and you may not be old enough to remember this) was the one that the character Yancy Derringer wore on TV in the fifties. I've still yet to fine that style.
