Good Morning CruiseMates!
I finally made the transition to a new computer. Unfortunately all my old emails and photos are still on the old one.
It has been a whirlwind of activity around here. My apologies for being a stranger again. Last month I sent d/h to work in Belgium for a week, then he came home and we popped up to Canada for a weekend to see the inlaws, then sent d/h back to Europe and he worked a week in Germany. During all this my Mother in law had another major battle with her cancer, and went through several surgeries to repair her bone deterioration issues. Now we're waiting to hear what the next step is. The best thing that came out of all of that was she found a surgeon who is actually doing a great job of coordinating the care of all her Doctors, which has been sorely lacking up til now.
About 3 weeks ago my Sister had the same bionic foot and ankle surgery, (along with a knee surgery all at the same time) I had in late 2010, she is doing very well so far and I am very pleased.
In addition to all of that excitement, my two children both had some birthmarks that had been making some interesting growth/changes so the plastic surgeon thought it best that they be removed (the birthmarks, not the children lol) so for those of you who remember Allie... she no longer has her beautiful beauty spot on her sweet little chin. The Doctor did the surgeries on the kids at the same time on Dec. 20th. They were amazing. Good news, is the pathology reports on both kids came back normal, and they are well on the road to recovery and looking great!
Needless to say between running everyone to/from surgeries and follow up appointments in Indianapolis I have not had much spare time to do much else with a couple of exceptions.
While I was in Canada visiting the inlaws a few weeks ago. I went online to check my email and the online version of our local newspaper (yes, I have to know what is happening while I am away) and I saw an announcement that the local community theatre group was going to be holding auditions for Sondheim's "A Little Night Music". I also noticed that the Music Director was my very favorite high school teacher of all time. He had finally retired from University of Illinois as a very accomplished Professor. The theatrical Director was also known to me, and I could not pass up the opportunity to audition for this show, even though I had not done anything theatrical since the 80's. So long story short, they cast me as Countess Charlotte Magnum and we started rehearsals Dec. 13 and it has been a hoot to see all these people from my remote youth lol.
In the meanwhile I got an email from an agent in Indianapolis asking if I was available to be an extra in a National commercial shoot for a Pizza company and national sports celebrities. So off I went to Lucas Oil Stadium bright and early one morning. We stated about 7:00 a.m. and didn't finish until about 7:00 p.m. OMG it was an excruciatingly long day, but fascinating. Because of non-disclosure agreements, I cannot say much about it, but I can tell you that it should air Jan. 22nd, I believe during the AFC Championship Football game. I have no idea how much of "the extras" you'll be able to make out in the commercial. But I should be on there somewhere lol.
So I apologize to all of you for not being around and checking in much, and especially to Todd who's Christmas phone call I have not yet returned, and to Ray who sent me the sweetest Christmas Card. I love you guys... and I miss you.
Hope everyone had a wonderful Christmas and I wish you all a Happy New Year!!!
Boy, I was worn out just from reading your post B/W! I'm glad things are looking up for all of your clan on the healthcare front although I shall miss Allie's adorable beauty spot but it's best they're gone.
I'm so glad you got the part in the musical! I remember the day you were just going to go and audition. And now a national commercial to boot! You are incredibly talented!
Well, tomorrow I'll be heading out early for Johnson City to help in whatever way I'm able in setting up for the big New Year's Gala for Kari's Heart fund. The family will arrive in two sets as some have to work though Lucky's closing the shop early.
Thankfully both today and tomorrow are scheduled to be beautiful and then some showers scheduled on Sunday (but who cares as that's after the fact). Temps are also going to be in the mid fifties so weather will be no problem.
Hope everyone has a safe and joyous New Year's Eve if I don't get a chance to post tomorrow.
I goes without saying that Prayers for all who are suffering for any reason in any way continue along with a request for multitudinous Blessings upon all of my beloved Cruisemates.

another long lost poster...grammer police do no respond lol. I had rotator cuff surgery on my right shoulder Tues. with lots of stitches and 3 plastic anchors.
We ran around looking for clotted cream, or Devonshire Cream, and finally found some at a Whole Foods. What a fun place. Wold have liked to shopped there longer.
Not much planned for the day. I hope you all have a nice day and stay safe in the holiday traffic.
And to everyone who sees this I wish you a Happy New Year.
The weather here in Palm Coast, FL. is great. We are having a beautiful sunny day with temps over 70 deg.

Welcome back to the boards Beenie Weenie. It seem as though your life has been as full as ever. I cannot believe it has been a year since we all met in Orlando. A memorable evening to be sure.
A quiet day for me here in Florida. I stayed in and made a pot of soup and did some work. Ahhhhh the exciting life of this single senior!. Tomorrow night I might pull out all the stops and stay up until 10:00 and almost toast in the new year with cocoa and marshmallows.
Have a great day friends.

Laura, you have to stay up to see the ball drop.
Since I am now a Floridian, I hope to meet you in 2012.

Today was my 5th straight day golfing (and I'm getting worse instead of better ). But I am enjoying winter in AZ. Nearly perfect weather all this week, with temps in the mid 70s.
Have more friends arriving next week, so going to be staying busy.
And, amazingly, it appears that my mother and her caregiver are going to be doing well enough to come down here Wed. Mentally she's about half there, but physically she's well enough to come. Hopefully she will thrive a bit mentally seeing all her grand children and great grandchildren who live here.
