Facebook is an excellent tool.

Without Facebook or any other internet social network I have found people from elementary school through college .I've also found people that I've worked with going back 52 years . To date I've reconnected with more than 200 people .

Easy. A lot of my high school classmates stayed in my home town in MN. Besides, I keep getting invited to reunions. I've only been to one. But I did strike up a reacquaintance with a fairly good friend in high school. She has serious health problems. I tried to see her when I went back to MN this past Sept., but she was scheduled to go into surgery.

I found one elementary school friend a while ago she turned out to be about as friendly as a snake. I decided not to try that again. I have found many classmates of FaceBook that turned out good. My class has a group page which makes it nice. I also have found people that I used to work with in NH. Some years ago I used to help adoptees try to find their biological families. That was before FB. I used to use adoptee/birthparent registries databases.

I wonder occasionally but have never attempted to find anyone, thinking if we have not met for 40 years who cares?? I heard last year an old friend had suddenly dropped dead, but we had not been in touch for so long it didn't seem to matter, sad really.

I believe that all my childhood friends have gone to a better place.

Either that or they believe that they are too old to understand computers.

I've reconnected with 2 "lost" friends who do not own computers . We converse by phone and in person.

I have all my friends, all these years later..I ate lunch the other day with my pal since I was 11....went to dinner a while back with 2 pals that I met at 12 in jr high.....the couple who lived upstairs form us when we got married,are still good friends....I took her to Europe with me on the Magic..I called her Ethel, she called me Lucy...not really lookong for old friends, maybe aquaintences...

I have been able to reconnect with friends from High School via FB and have been to our class reunions. I have not had any luck reconnecting to freinds from pre-high school, a different state.

But was able to reconnect with a cousin on FB.

I've found that I haven't kept in touch with a number of people for a reason. That reason usually surfaces when they try to reconnect with me.

There was one person who wanted to reconnect with me on Facebook and when I "ignored" the friend requests she must have come here and found my email address and sent me a pretty nasty email because I ignored her request.

My response was: "You were an a** then and it looks like you still are."

I'm very lucky in that I've reconnected, or stayed connected with all of my high school class, except one! We have a very active group of people, who meet once a month for breakfast in our little home town up in Indiana, and stay connected via e-mail with all of us who aren't still in that area. All of my friends are EXCELLENT people who would, and will do anything to help each other. I couldn't ask for a better bunch of folks.
