Morning Mates, it's Friday at last, and boy, has it ever seemed to be a long week!
With a storm brewing yesterday the kids were off the wall, and I even had to call a parent and have one of them sent home due to behaviour.
The storm didn't amount to much after all, we only got enough snow to just cover the grass, and most of that will be melted in today's rain.
The roads are salted and cleared, so school is on, and so is my aquafitness class, so off I go.
RD, I do wish you a great weekend you certainly deserve it.
We will be goying to Daytona to get together with friends and the we will checkout the Farmer's Market. I am looking for more plants for my property. Sofar I have planted 3 palms and 2 fig trees.
Have a nice friday folks.

Good morning from a cool Texas, where the temps surprised the weatherman, once again.
Last night was the presentation of the key to the city for our own Heisman trophy winner Robert Griffin III. I was a little disappointed that he decided to go Pro instead of staying at Baylor, and finishing his masters, but I do believe he will continue his education in the off season. We are of course, very proud of him.
Yesterday I was able to get a lot of things done around the house. I will finish up my closet today, finally removing those clothes that I can no longer wear, as well as the shoes.
Did anyone see the news where the Miss. gov pardoned the murderers? When I heard it, I, for a minute I was frozen in fear, until I realized it was another state, and did not envolve us. Those poor families. My heart goes out to them. Did you know that if Joe's killer is moved, I get an alert? My cell phone is registered with the state, and they send a recorded message, that I have to give a password, for it to stop. I am lucky that it has only gone off once, but that was enough.
Well, My closet is calling, so I need to go and finish up. I hope that all of you have a good day.
Good morning to you R/D, Manuel and all who follow. It's cold today and the snow is flying but we're only going to get as much as you did Rollerdonna, just a dusting. Low tonight will be in the teens but then it's back to a more temperate climate next week. It's housework for sure today for me as I've been kinda' under the weather the past coupld of days and now must play catch-up.
Manuel, I have a story to tell you about fig trees. One day, decades ago, we went over to visit Fran's parents who were Italian and barely spoke English. I noticed the fig tree was gone in the back yard. Her father smiled and said it wasn't gone, he had buried the tree for the winter. I said, "The whole tree?!" He shook his head yes. He loved figs but the tree couldn't take the New York winters so from a sapling, he "trained" it to actually lay down easily when he dug a hole for it each fall. In the spring he would uncover it, raise it up and it produced every year the most delicious figs imaginable. Who'd a thunk it!
It's weather such as today's that makes me really anticipate Trip's Epic cruise with Ray in March.
Hope everyone has a good run-up to the weekend and I can't wait for the next part of your cruise review, R/D!

Hi Kids,
We are getting the rain, that was snow in the midwest, and, this weekend will be cold. Todd, we are also looking, for the heat, and, humidity of the cruise
ports. C'mon March!
I have been dreaming of chicken croquettes, and I guess Weavers is not around,at least here, so, I think I need to try and make my own..this craving won't go away!
Lucy will be over soon, bringing the only sunshine I will see today.
Make it a good one.

It's a semi-typical January day here. Cold but still no snow. I'm not complaining especially since I couldn't shovel or blow any snow if it did show up.
Today is a PT day so we'll be off in an hour or so to have them measure my thigh and see how far I bend my knee. That's basically all they've been doing and telling me to do my exercises. I can do a 120 degree bend so that's good but it is very stiff and still very sore. The lateral support is still not there. I do well with the brace on but take it off and I'm not too stable. Then again, I've always been unstable.
I hope everyone enjoys their Friday and the tasks at hand. I also hope everyone has a wonderful weekend.
Take care,
Mike

Morning from the Pacific Northwest........29 right now......suppose to make it to the mid 30's for the high.........& the S word is in the forcast..........yuck!
Good Morning cruisemates! Back to bright sunshine today in AZ, with a likely high of 70.
Nothing on my schedule today. Likely out for brunch later with two couples who are in town, and think we'll come here tonight for a bar-b-q.
Checked in on my mother yesterday, and she seems to be doing fine, and she and her caregiver have been busy running around town; though when I asked her yesterday what they did the day before she couldn't remember. Her live-in did, as I suggested, and take her over to a senior center to enroll in a geriatric excercise program... so she can meet some other seniors.
Mike.. I've always wanted to own a horse farm.... and call it the NotSo Stable.
Well winter has arrived in Southern Ohio. The temps dropped down to 13 and have probably hit the high of 18 for today. Snow is falling, wind is blowing and I am wanting to get out of here to a warmer place. Sorry to say that ain't going to happen. The kids got their first snow day from school today which means they get an extra long weekend by being off Monday for MLK day. Kids are happy, parents not so much.
I have a big pot of brown beans cooking right now and will make some cornbread later. It will be a good ole redneck meal for us today! Will be staying inside where it is warm.
RD, sounds like those kids are a real handful.
Trip, the chicken dish sounds good. Have fun with Lucy.
LuAnne, when you get your closet done you are more than welcome to come do mine.
Todd, remember, dust protects your furniture so don't over do it today. Love Ya.
Todd, that was an interesting story about the fig tree.
I never tried to grow them in Connecticut, but here in Florida it should be OK.
