Morning Mates, it is a wet and mild Wednesday here in Pictou County, there is no snow left and we're at +5C! Looks more like April than mid-January!
I am off this morning for my skate at the arena. I am really trying to fit in as much exercise as I can to help with my weight loss goal. Skating, swimming and yoga fill my week, and I need to find time for walking as well....
Day 9 is up, and my cruise review is coming to an end, only 1 more day then I'll wrap it up!
It is a beautiful morning here in Texas, but a little chilly, with temps in the 30's. By tomorrow, we should be back up in the 70's.
Donna, Before I forget, I sure have enjoyed your review. You always do such a good job on them.
Well, the Man cave seats have been ordered. Jim picked them out, and also the color. I am proud of him, because shopping is not his favorite thing to do. The new stuff should be here in 4 to 6 weeks.
The closet is still not finished. I was trying to do it, and other things, and ran out of time.
I am one of those mom's who saved everything that the kids brought home. I am in the process of packing all of that up, and putting it in the attic for Josh to show his kids one of these days. Many of those things had ended up in my closet. He didn't want to go through them, because it includes Joe's stuff too, and he refuses to talk about Joe, so I have left notes with each box, so if I am gone, when he opens them, he will be able to understand some of it.
Not much else planned for today. I am reading a really good book, so I hope to be able to read sometime today.
It is finally cold here in the frozen northland of Minnesota. It got below zero last night and now is just +2F. We will again go below zero tonight but be above freezing this weekend. So far no real snow to speak of. After last year that's a good thing. If I use the Toro combination walker and snowblower again Betty will finish the job she started this weekend after I blew the driveway of 1/2" of snow. The bruises are just starting to fade.
If travel agents are having the same experience with new cruisers that I'm having I think the industry is in for a bit of a problem. Friends and family are all going on a cruise in March. There are a dozen of us going and last night I spoke to my SIL and niece. Both of them wanted to cancel because of the Concordia tragedy. I spoke with them for about a half hour. What convinced them to not cancel was the statement: "This is probably the safest time to cruise. You can bet that procedures have been beefed up on all ships.". That and the fact they wouldn't get a refund if they canceled.
Seriously: I think many people are worried and I will bet that there will be a number of cancellations but the vast majority of people will continue to cruise. Also, the sad fact is that people have short memories and this will be a vague memory when the next news cycle comes around.
Nothing major on the agenda for today. Just some dusting with the Swiffer. I love the Swiffer but it sure does make you a lazy cleaner. You don't take everything off the tables and give it a good polish when you can just whisk it away. I love the smell of furniture polish. Maybe I'll get ambitious and polish everything.
I hope everyone has a Wonderful Wednesday and that the rest of the week is a great one.
Take care,
Mike

Morning mates. Nothing going on yet. Not been feeling up to snuff the past few days. Just doing what I have to and nothing more. It's bright and sunny here but a bit chilly. Hope you all have a great day.
Morning from the Pacific Northwest...........only 32 right now........about 7" of new snow.......all schools are closed...........lots of things closed down........snow sure messes us up here.........
Mike.......I have to agree...........now is the best time to cruise........things will be done by the book or better......
Not much going on today...........staying in & keeping warm.......
I want to remind people that cruising is very safe. One incident should not speak for all the cruise ships that are out there. Thousands of people die in car accidents and yet the roads are full of cars. Everywhere I go from North to South or East to West I see traffic jams everywhere.
I wish you all a pleasant day..
TM

Good morning. Bright and sunny here in SoCal, but apparently, Ma Nature has plans for us starting Friday. I hope it's true.
Keith went off to Riverside today. Yes, I know. It's not Saturday. My immediate plans include heading for the pharmacy as I am out of diabetic supplies.
Good afternoon from Virginia Beach where it is in the 40's today. Rob and I got back yesterday from Maryland. We had spent time in Oak Hill and Gaithersburg; the grandkids in Oak Hill had their duel birthday celebration on Saturday. Friday afternoon, we picked up our granddaughter from preschool and took her out to lunch at an Italian restaurant. Then, we took her to Color Me Mine to do a ceramics project. Monday night was a joint dinner at our elder daughter's house with her inlaws. This morning I was back at the gym trying to burn off all of the calories I ate! Hope everybody has a great day!
