Default Stormy Saturday

Morning Mates, from a still stormy Pictou County. Yesterday we did not see one snowflake until after 3 p.m., then heavy snow till about 5:30 when it turned to ice pellets.
Freezing rain and high wind pelted the windows all night, and this morning it is snowing and still blowing. I am glad that I do not have to go anywhere today, it will be a "hibernation" day for me!
A good book, a few cups of tea, and cooking up some comfort food sounds like a plan for today...

Morning mates. I was tortured out of bed this morning by three of my cats instead of the usual one or two. The other two were waiting by the bed. I guess all five were extra hungry.

I had a long session with my daughter last night just as I was heading to bed. She came in upset after being out with friends. This is a scary but exciting time in her life, being a senior in high school. So, all of her insecurities came flooding out. I never know how much I've helped, but I am always glad that she comes to me and I am glad she can cry and get the mess off her chest. My brother and I were taught to just stuff everything inside and not bother anyone withour feelings. The fact that she trusts me to listen is an honor.

I feel somewhat better today physically than I did yesterday, so I guess there will be more housework on the agenda today.

Donna, I hope you enjoy your book.

Have a nice day all.

Good morning from "Grandpa! I need help!" central.

Last night my granddaughter called and asked if she could come over and take care of me. She is so sweet and my daughter brought the kids over with the express instructions that no bugging grandpa and making him walk around. They did great last night. Now this morning it's a different story. Grandma decided to let each one play online games and grandpa has to be tech support when they hit the wrong icon. I've been running between computers for the last half hour while grandma is on the phone and when grandma calls "Mike, can you figure this out?!" . Sometimes having five computers in the house isn't a good thing but it's worth it to watch them have fun.

The leg is still healing but today my problem is my shoulder. I think that the way I'm walking and putting so much weight on the cane and shoulder has got me out of whack. It is hurting almost as much as the knee. I may have to break down and take more ********. I really hate the way narcotics make me feel but sometimes you just gotta do it.

Not much on the agenda other than taking care of the grandkids. Betty is thinking of taking them to the Community Center and playing in the waterpark/pool. That should wear them out.

Moraine: I remember those late night conversations with my daughter. Actually we had one about two weeks ago. It's nice that she will open up to you and discuss her problems. I found, a long time ago, that, most of the time you don't need to solve their problems but be a sounding board for them.

I hope everyone is having a great day and that all have a wonderful weekend.

Kuki: Don't play too much golf. My best for your Mom.

Take care,

Good morning all from a sunny Texas. It seems that our total rain amount was a little over 2 inches this week, so we are improving.

Jim and I had an interesting night. I was reading a book yesterday about the Mob in Vegas. The author reconmended the movie "Casino" We down loaded it, and wow, it's really good. I then got interested in some of the characters, so I started doing research on the net. The main character in Casino has a web site in real life, so I have been reading it.

Today, I have a list a mile long, on what I need to do before we leave town tomorrow.

I hope all of you have a good day, and if I am not on tomorrow, I will be think of you all, and be on Monday from the great state of OK.

Sunshine and a little cool but I sat out on the deck and had a couple of cups of coffee, nice to see something different.

Same old thing today except for my new exercise...pretending to clean a window...about 3 inches polished.

Have a great weekend all.

Hi Mates,

Just a slow day here in south Texas. Sunny and warm.

Slow day at docs office yesterday. Luckily, I was in and out pretty fast. Blood work looks mostly.good and broken toe healing nicely. Stopped off at my fav Mexican place and had crispy tacos for dinner. Rosie makes the best tea! Love living in a small town. She knows me by name even though I haven't been in there in some time now.

Cable workers still enjoying tearing up my little town to install all their new cable wires. Towns-people not too thrilled about it.

Hope everyone has a pleasant weekend!!

Good evening from Virginia Beach where the temp was over 60 degrees today. It's no wonder why the plants are getting confused! Rob had surgery yesterday on the meniscus of his knee and is now recuperating. I got out of the house this afternoon to take advantage of the sales at Dillards. I am definitely a clothes horse! Hope that everybody had a great day!
