Morning Mates, it's Tuesday and my week begins.... Temp is at -9 "feels like -20", or -4F.
Snow flurries in the forecast, and we got a few of those last night as well, so the ground is almost covered now. Not bad for the last day of January!
Yesterday I did my first indoor walk, and was very proud to actually do 20 times around the pool = 1 mile! I was feeling so good I went another 5 times, = another 1/4 mile!
Today I will be IN the pool doing aquafitness, then back to walking tomorrow.
I am bound and determined to lose those 10 lbs before the next cruise!
Good morning from Ottawa! Had some snow overnight and during the day today we will be getting several hours of freezing rain. Tomorrow we are suppose to go well above freezing....our roller coaster winter continues.
Keep up the good work RD! My walking has been getting my Mother in and out at Drs. appts. Yesterday we were told that it does look like she has had a small stroke so today we are going for a CAT scan. I didn't see her over the weekend but Sunday evening my middle sister called to tell me that Mom's speech seemed odd. I went over and sure enough she was talking like she had a mouth full of cotton. We tried to get her to let us take her to the ER but she insisted she was fine and that a visit to the Dr. would be all she would do. I got her in yesterday and the conclusion was a small stroke but it was over and the damage is done.
The real fun begins now as it is getting apparent that she should no longer live alone. This is one tough ole lady and getting her out of that house is going to be like moving a mountain. We have a couple of wonderful assisted living facilities nearby so I am hoping for one of those in the future.
Temp here is already 50 with it just going up! YIPPEE!! D/H is going to go to his golf club and see if he can get a game or 2 in today while it is so nice.
Hope everyone has a great day.
I got on the scales and I'm 288 pounds this morning. Three weeks ago I was 259 and I eat like a bird. I have absolutely no energy at all. I took an 80 mg lasix yesterday afternoon but it did virtually nothing.
My brother's on his way over from Clinton as we have to pay for our sister's funeral. Afterwards I'm coming straight home and try another lasix. Wish me luck before I burst like a water balloon!

Good morning from "Mild Winter Minnesota". It is going to be another 40 degree day here in the north country. That's fine with me since Betty's best friend (the snowblower) is in the shop.
Betty is feeling a bit better today but still not up to par. She has a kidney infection and has been prescribed antibiotics and that should clear it up. She actually stayed home from work last night. With her home I made her a nice, easy roast chicken dinner with mushroom rice and some REALLY bad French cut green beans from Costco. The beans had "a taste" that was terrible and they were thrown out. I love Costco but I have to say their produce leaves a lot to be desired.
Sue: Sorry to hear about your mom. I do hope that she seriously considers the Assisted Living facility. It was the best thing we did for my mother. The facility was first rate and she loved it. Heck, I'd go there. Even she agreed that she should have gone there two years earlier. All my best with this.
I wish everyone a wonderful Tuesday and that it brings all sorts of good "stuff".
Take care,
Mike

Good morning mates. Having a little bit of quiet time before the fun starts.
I went to court a year ago today to get guardianship of my dad and pulled him from the nursing home my mother had put him in four months before. The nursing home had asked my mother to take him back in Novemeber but she refused. My brother could not but I could. It took me a few months to move and get things settled. It's be a wild year.
Sue, I'm sorry that you mom's time at home is just about up. I know that you have been caring for her for a long time.My thoughts and good wishes are with you right now. I know this is a very stressful time.
Donna, you are doing a great job with the exercise. You'll have the ten pounds off by cruise time.
Todd, it may be time to call Jeff if this pill does not work. xoxoxoxoxo
You guys up north can have the ice. I really don't want any.

The only ice I want is in my drinks.

Good morning from Lawton, Ok where it is a beautiful sunny day.
I have spent the morning with hubby before he left for work. He has a much nicer work hours on this trip. It sure is better than 12 hours a day.
Last night we went out to eat. I had decided that we would use Trip Advisor for the resturants. Start with the one listed as #1 and work our way down. It turned out that # 1 is closed on Monday, so we went to Golden Correl. The food was good, but way to many picks for this girl, who has to watch what she eats. Tonight he is bringing stuff here. Lord knows what we will end up with.
Today is laundry, and workouts. The workout room is small, but has a few good pieces of equipment.
Good Morning cruisemates. A wonderful weather day on tap for Scottsdale; temps heading to the mid 70s.
Day 2 of my golf marathon...today's outing is with one of my nephews, his father, and another fellow visiting from Calgary.
Golfers can be jealous by googling Quintaro Golf Club and taking a virtual tour.
Mrs. Kuki is spending the day with some lady friends. Found out yesterday she needs a root canal and crown -$2000. There goes our food budget for Feb. and March.
Morning from the Pacific Northwest..........upper 30's......& rain.........should get to the upper 40's for the high.........rain is suppose to stop.........
Trip.........hope you find your bling.......
Todd.......ya know.......birds eat twice thier weight in food........
Moiraine & Sue.........good luck....you 2 are great in my book.......
Good afternoon.
Sounds like Florida isn't the only place where the weather is warm. I don't envy any of you experiencing ice. I always dreaded that more than snow.
Mike, glad to hear Betty is feeling better. Hope you are continuing to improve too.
Todd, sure wish you would get yourself to the doctor even though it isn't what you want to deal with right now. Take care of yourself.
RD and Luanne, you are both an inspiration!
Sue, I hope you find something for your mom that she will be able to enjoy while she is being cared for. I remember going through that with my mom. My prayers are with you.
I interviewed a nice pet sitter for my cat this morning. It will be good to have someone while we are cruising in March.
