Some people have a name like Robert and can be called :Robert ,Rob ,Robby ,Bob or Bobby .Others have names like Calvin and are likely to have nicknames .

Do people address you by your given name ,a nick name or a variation ?

My name is Krista, and I like to be called just that. I sometimes get the Kris and Krissy but never from the same person twice... lol.

My husband's name is Daniel, but I met him as Danny. Now that we've been together around 7 years, I yell Dan to him frequently and only use Daniel when he's in trouble. I still reffer to him as Danny to others, but it is nice to have options...

Everyone calls me by my first name, Robin except my dear friend who has called me Reuben or Reub for as long as I can remember.

I’m sure others have called me something other than my name that I’m not aware of.

I have a funny story about my name...
When I joined the staff of the daycare I last worked at in Montreal, I was the 3rd Donna on staff, so they started referring to me as Donna-Lee (my middle name). For 10 years there everybody thought my real name was Donna-Lee, even though the other 2 Donnas eventually left and I could have been "just Donna".
For all those years, every time someone called "Donna-Lee!" I would cringe inwardly because the only person EVER to call me that was my (dear late) mother, when I was in trouble!!

My Name is Linda Ann, a very popular combination when I was born. Ann, was going to be Lee, but, nope

I am called Charlie, by my husband since before we got married....My Mother called me Lin,and I have also been called Linny...

My 2 sons have never been called anything but Michael & Jonathan, but Mike and Jon, by others, while Nicole, has always been NikKi, but Nicole by her husband..go figure

I've always been called Todd. During my former profession in law enforcement I was called everything in the book, 99% of which are unrepeatable in a family forum. In fact I ended up answering to just about every epithet known to man!

Usually followed by "get away from there!" or "dont eat that!"...

My name is Roxanne..Which was not a very popular name in the late 60's and 70's. I've been called..Roxy, Roxy-anne, Auntie Roxo and most embarrassingly "Foxy Roxy" in Jr High - I was so shy then that I did not handle that one without turning beet red every time.

When I was a teen A lot of guys I knew had the same first name as I do and we all began using our middle names .
