You and your wife are on a caribbean cruise to celebrate your 40th.wedding anniversary . As the ship is about to sail you look at the other passengers gathered near you and one in particular looks very familiar .Although you are 65 you still have the brown hair that you had the day you wed.
You gaze once more at this one passenger .You know its a woman from your past but who is she ? You approach her and laugh ,telling her she looks familiar but you can't place her .
After a series of back and forth questions you both realize that you dated each other in high school .
Do you suggest meeting for coffee one day during the cruise ? Do you say "wow ,its amazing ,have a wonderful cruise." Or do you do something different ,if so ,what ?
First of all, tell her how great she looks. Then say, "I would love for you to have a drink with my wife and me before dinner tonight". Arrange a place to meet, and have fun!
I'd say 'Hi', and in convesation tell her you are on the cruise for your 40th anniversary and suggest 'we must all get together for a drink' so that you can introduce her to your wife (if she isn't there with you at sailaway) and then tell your wife. She's not going to be threatened by a high school girl-friend, and should love your honesty, if you didn't tell your wife & it came out during the voyage, I could imagine that it could be quite awkward.
Alan.

HA! At my age, I'm glad to remember ANYTHING! I agree with the others above, and invite her to meet with MY WIFE and me for a drink, before dinner some evening. I wouldn't be threatened, or afraid if I met someone from my past aboard a cruise. Not even MY EX!
I honestly think it would depend on the person, the nature of the relationship, how it ended, who ended it, was it one that never really ended but just had to stop.....the worst would be meeting a stalker or some other adversary.
