Today's Daytona 500 cancelled for the first time in 53 years

Thank Heavens I'm retired as they just cancelled today's Daytona 500 for the first time in 53 years. It's been delayed, shortened, etc. but never cancelled.

'Becha there will probably be around a million or so folks tomorrow who either go home by Noon or call in sick!

Many aren't NASCAR fans but those of who us who are understand.

I worked all day, missed the news....Why was it cancelled?

The sad thing is that I liver not too far from the Daytona Speedway and for the last three months we have had very little rain.

I have had to water my plants at least every other day. Today Mother Nature decided to give us a bunh of pouring rain.

I'm glad it will be run tomorrow. DH likes golf and basketball and I won't have to compete with either!

And now they are saying the weather today may be worse than that that cancelled the race on Sunday............Go Smoke and Kenseth!!!!!!

Just hope the rain today goes away so they can get it in. I am dating myself but my Dad took me to the very first race ran at the track many years ago. I was young but still remember how big it was and to see where it is now...unbelievable.
I will be watching and pulling for Smoke and the bow tie boys!
