Morning Mates, where is everybody this morning, waiting for me to open the morning thread?
I just HAD to finish the book I was reading before doing ANYTHING this morning, it was such a good book with such a fantastic twist at the end! A new favourite author, Jodi Picoult, and the novel is called "House Rules" about a teenager with Asperger's Syndrome.
It was fascinating and very well written....
It looks like a housework day for me, cleaning up and finishing my packing, nothing exciting.
Emma is doing fine for the moment, and thank you all for your kind words of support....
Donna, I certainly feel sad about Emma. At least she is in good hands.
We are adjusting quite well to the cold weather in Ct. because it's pretty mild. Winter never did show up this season.
I wish you all a nice sunday.

I sit here this morning with a once in a blue moon, hangover. The wedding of Joe's best friend was last night. When we got there, I was given flowers like the mom's had. Most of Joe's friends wore ribbons in memory of him. I cried the entire service, but thankfully it was over with soon.
I took my first drink, and then kept it up. It was the only way to get through it. Don't worry. I don't drink at all.
The last song of the night was Joe's song "Friends in Low Places" and the groom asked me to dance with him. We also included his brother, who is also like my son. The three of us danced, cried, and held on to each other on the dance floor.
This morning we are meeting the family at a local resturant for brunch. Many of us probably including some of you, have helped to raise someone else's kids, but very seldom are you rewarded with such a position at the wedding. I am truely blessed.
LuAnne what a wonderful jester they did for you. It had to be hard but it showed just how much Joe was loved by all. I too would like to give you a big hug today.
I am seeing a few of those white flakes outside right now. Weatherheads say we could see a dusting but nothing much. Good thing as our 2 months off from the square dance calling routine ends today. We will be off to Dayton, Oh around 3 for a special dance. I was checking our schedule last night and we are going to be putting the miles on the new HHR!
My daughter has been sick for about 4 days and yesterday I made her let me take her to the urgent care. She has strep throat, thanks to her 2 girls for giving it to her. She started meds so hoping she is doing better today. D/H & I kept the girls all evening so she could rest. Those 2 girls are so funny and entertaining. Love them so much.
Hope everyone has a good day.
Robin, boys certainly grow up quickly, don't they?
Am retaining water again (14 lbs in two weeks) and don't know why. I've upped my lasix to the max. May have to do some IV's before my birthday and then my cruise in order to keep it under control in the lungs for as long as I can. I'll talk with Jeff or Julie tomorrow and see what alternatives I might avail.
Now, it's back to the race at Phoenix.
