Default Saturday's pre Easter musings

I thought I was going to spend Easter with just my three furry children as my brother and his wife have packed up in preparation to moving back to Europe and my Niece and her husband will be out of town and now my sister is herself in the ground (or rather scattered over it).

But a good friend is coming over for dinner. I'm fixing the ham and providing dessert while she's fixing the sides which include my favorite version of green bean casserole. So it will be a at least a somewhat festive day afterall.

I'm truly very tired from working all week and probably shouldn't tackle too much but even though sincerely offered, I refuse to rely on neighbors to cut my lawn anymore (providing my lawn tractor will start(!). I'll also clean up the house before I crash for a nap this afternoon. Hell, I may even dust the living room and dining room that no one's used since Fran died (although it has been cleaned a couple of times). At least the "children" never go in it so it basically comes down to just dusting and vacuuming.

I AM NOT looking forward going to the "Labeled Nut House" aka grocery store today, but I guess you'se gotta' do what you'se gotta' do!

Good Morning Todd, glad to see you are up and around and doing well enough to be expecting company for dinner!
I woke up this morning to a "Snowfall Warning" on the Weather Eye on my computer. Not what one wants to see on Easter weekend, but that is what is in store, snow, freezing rain and high winds. Oh joy.

Yesterday, while it was still sunny and cold but not freezing, we took Emma for a long walk that tired all 3 of us out to the point that we all napped the afternoon away!
I also took some photos of my outdoor Easter decorations, especially my Easter Egg Tree:

Tonight we are looking forward to going out to trivia as it is Music Trivia this week, my favourite and gives us a better chance of winning! Enjoy your weekend everybody!

Good Morning Everyone!

I am almost done with night 2 of 4 at work AND only 4 working nights left until I am on vacation!! In just over a week we are taking a camping trip up north!! I camped a ton as a kid, and want the sae for my babies! My husband and I started this time last year for our anniversary, then took the kids in June. They loved it, which we hoped for, so now we'll be going as much as we can!

I have spent the morning starting my meal plan/shopping list for the trip. I am a very organized camper, and don't want to forget something. We'll be out there 5 days/nights so that's a lot of food. We keep it simple but also enjoy some things we don't normally buy like Soda (Vernors is a MUST), smores, hot chocolate, and real maple syrup.

I bought a new Honda Pilot on Monday, so we plan to break her in on this trip!! My only fear is that our gear will stink up the inside on our way home, but I guess the new car smell can't last forever anyway...

We celebrated Easter last weekend since I work this weekend, but hopefully I can manage with a little less sleep Sunday and get to go to church with the family. I hope you all have a very Happy Easter and that we all remember why we really celebrate!!

P.S. Donna, how do you get your photos to show up in the post? I think I have asked this before, but can't remember.

Krista, I post them somewhere else first (in this case, facebook) then just copy and paste them into this post. You can however, post them in the CrusieMates photo gallery (personal photos) BUT it requires you to re-size them to a certain size first, and that is a pain when you are trying to post multiples like I do in my cruise reviews.

Good morning everyone from a dull, but warm Texas. I have no idea what the weather will be today, because I have not checked the map.

We had a good time last night. Jim got out of class early, so we went out to eat.

First thing you need to understand is that Fort Hood is a group of very small towns, with tons of troops, so going out can take hours if you don't plan it correctly, because there is just not that many places to eat.

We decided to go to Red Lobster. Boy has the service gone down. To say the least, it was not great. Afterwards we went shopping. We are not much at shopping, so we went to a store that Jim likes, to look at cabinets. We also went to the mall to buy Josh something for Easter.

I use to fix baskets for the boys, even when they were grown, but stopped a couple of years ago. Josh told me the other night, he was glad he no longer had to deal with baskets with all that fake grass. Well, what can I say?:o

I hope all of you have a good day.

Much love,

Luanne

Good morning mates. It's chilly here this morning. It will warm up into the 70s this afternoon. I was up in the night with dad but managed to go back to sleep. Everyone is still in bed. It's just the animals that are up with me this morning, and some of them are asleep again. Chores and some reading are in order. I hope the sick feel better. Have a wonderful weekend all.

Good Morning cruisemates! HOT is the norm for the next few days in Arizona; temps into the mid 90s.

I'm undecided on what I'm going to do today. May begin my packing today, or I may take a trip to the casino. I've only been twice in the months I've been here, and I never go at home, so it might be an excursion for me today.

If not, I'll spend the afternoon watching The Masters golf tournament.

If you take a look at the menu bar near the top of your screen on the message board, on the left hand side you see User CP. Move your cursor over that and the drop down menu shows "pictures and albums".

It's very easy to upload pictures there, and unlike the old photo galleries, you can upload multiple pictures at a time.

Then when wanting to post in your message, you click on insert an image, find that image in your photo album, and click on it, and voila, your picture is embedded in your message.

When I'm on a ship, and writing live "virtual cruise reports" for CM, this is the system I use. If it's easy to do using the low speed of ship's internet, then it's a snap from home with high speed.

Default Saturday's Pre-Easter Musings

Good morning. Looks like a balmy weekend. Then, by the end of the week, more rain.

Keith has gone to Riverside and the Wright Flyer Project. My own pre-Easter musings fall under the heading of "undecided." I know I have to buy a hostess gift for tomorrow.

Anyway, I hope everyone has a nice day.

Good morning everyone:

It's been a busy morning with getting the prime rib seasoned, gluten free chocolate cake backed, potatoes peeled, canapés made and kitchen cleaned up........for the first of many times today.

It's our Easter dinner day and the kids, grandkids and friends will be here around 1:00 p.m. and we'll eat around 2.

It will be a fun but busy day. It does look like it's going to be a rainy day so I'll get a bit wet checking on the BBQ Prime rib.

I go with Kuki's recommendation for posting photographs. Use the CM personal photo gallery. You can upload multiple photos and it will resize them unless you are shooting at something like 12 mega pixels. If you click on the picture and then right click and select copy you can just then click "paste" into your post. Like this.

And you show everyone Acapulco.

Take care and have a wonderful Saturday and lovely Easter.
Mike

Greetings from sunny toledo!

spent the day with my beautiful boys, they are 7 and 4 and full of energy. Luckily we live across the street from a park so they were able to burn off some energy.

Tonight im going to a baptism for my friends daughter followed by meeting up to chat with another friend. Trying to get her to go on a cruise with me in november so im not alone! Then to pull off easter bunny duties! Lol

Hope everyone is enjoying their day!
