Hi all my hubby and my first trip to Orlando Fl. We are crusing on the Freedom of the Seas at the end of this month. Since we are getting into town early. We were interested in local attractions. I noticed this Go Orlando Card. It claims 47 attractions are included, however, I noticed some are no where near Orlando and won't possible to get to in the time frame we have. So for the attractions near Orlando is this card worth in. Here is the list of attractions "included".

I guess it depends how early you're getting into town and how much does the card cost?
As you've already noticed alot of the things are nowhere near Orlando so once you knock those out of the picture would it really be worth it?
Out of the list I would say that Gatorland, yes, it's touristy, is actually a lot of fun.
If you're looking for less touristy.....
The Morse Museum (a fabulous collection of Tiffany glass!) and lunch somewhere along Park Ave in Winter Park is a lovely, low key way to spend an afternoon and could easily be combined with the scenic boat tour of the Winter Park chain of lakes.
If you enjoy local history you could spend an afternoon at the Orange County History Museum, have a nice lunch downtown and then take a stroll around Lake Eola.
I'd be happy to answer any questions you may have about Orlando.

We'll only be in Orlando for two days prior to our cruise. We're most interested in Cape Canaveral, but can't figure how to get there and back from our hotel? Is there a shuttle? Taxi? Should we rent a car?
Kat, I don't know how much that card costs, but I'm thinking we can all do better by booking what we want to do directly.
JMHO,

We will get in last on the 24th. Full days the 25th, 26th, 27th and 28th. Visiting TM on the 25th so I'm in Palm Coast that day. But 3 full Orlando days before the cruise on the 29th. Gatorland and Kennedy Space center are high on the list. The Boggy Creek Airboats Scenic Nature Tour on the list sounds cool I guess it goes through the everglades. The 3 day is selling for $166.49 per person. I can save about $30 more per person going through my union.
Angela any tips on Orlando would be helpful. My hubby and I are renting a car. Have you been to the Haunted Grimm House?
I'm eyeballing to compare costs to the card. Kennedy is $46, Gatorland is $27, Boggy creek airboats is $26, Haunted Grimm House $12.50, and Gray line Orlando tour $65. That is five attractions for $176.50 so it could save some money. Since the card is good for 2 weeks after it's first used we could use it twice go on the cruise and then use it one more time. It depends on if I really want to go to those other attractions or if all I really care about is the Kennedy Space center. Okay I just confused myself. If we are going to Universal or Disney world then maybe not. Ahhh I'm confused!!! Maybe I should get my hubby's opinion since I'm traveling with him. He is suppose to be doing all the planning after all. Man I'm a control freak.

FYI: We did the Boggy Creek Airboats last month. Its not a creek, or the Everglades. Its on a marshy lake. It was cool, but not authentic. I'm sure there are better tours "down south".

Free is just in my price range. Thanks for the information on the Boggy Creek Airboats. It might still be fun I have never been in an airboat before.

Its just a very loud boat. Boggy Creek guys dont go very fast at all, so its not "as advertised". Most of the time is spent trying to not annoy the nesting birds... going very slowly. If youre a bird watcher, its great. Plenty of birds. The whole 30 minute trip is along maybe 1000 feet of lake shore. Maybe the areas they go to are seasonal, also.
