Talking Where and Why?

Here is one for you:

Question #1 -- Where are we?

Question #2 -- WHY am I holding a hiking stick in my hand. Do I LOOK like I am a hiker??

Marc --

Most people think that my screen name means that I drive a Mercedes ...

And as for the picture -- the description of the tour said "Your guide will take you for a walk in the rain forest." It did not say that the walk was an hour and a half long. I should have figured when they gave us the walking sticks ...

Fresno is basically in the middle of a desert. It does indeed have palm trees here and there. Why people plant palm trees in the middle of a desert is beyond me. I like the places that use prickley pear for landscaping better myself.

But no cruise ships stop in Fresno ...

You did not say anything in your initial post about being on a cruise .

My second guess is :Ceylon .

That's true, Henry.

This is a hard one -- there are so many tropical places that have palm trees.

Let's narrow it down. This was a cruise on a major cruise ship from a mainstream line, on a river.

Does that help?

The Amazon it is indeed!

We flew to Manaus Brazil where two rivers meet to form the Amazon, and cruised down the river.

Hiking through the forest was only one of the things I did that I never thought I would ...
