Today we honor those who have fallen for our country and given their lives for our freedom! I hope that in your celebrations and BBQs you stop and remember what this day is really about!!
My hubby is a Veteran and although I am thankful for his service as well as that of all those who are serving and have served, today is about those we have lost and the loved ones they left behind.
This morning I am working the rest of my shift, making breakfast for the kids and hubby, then resting up to come back tonight. I would love to stay home with everyone else, but hospitals stay busy over the holidays (especially with drinkers tonight) and I like the holiday pay!
I hope you all have a safe and happy Memorial Day!

Morning Krist and all mates to follow...hope you all enjoy your day and honour those you've lost...
Here, it is just another Manic Monday, with errands to do and and work later on.
As the weather is nice I hope to plant a few new perrenials I picked up last week. I tried on Friday but the black flies were too bad.
Today is a sad day for me because I thinks of my buddies that served with me in Vietnam who did not came back alive as I did.
I hope that someday there will come a then wheb people won't be dying in wars.

Belgium, and my family, took the brunt of WWI and WW2 - "when the big horses kick, the little dog gets hurt". War is hell.
My first husband was killed in Viet Nam in 1968 and today's ceremonies were touching, well done, and appreciated.
I still thank every soldier I meet, no matter what age or what war. I miss living on an Air Force base and hearing the "Gray Ladies", the B-52 bombers, roar over my head every day and night. They represented strength and peace for us.
