Default Hatfields and McCoys

Had a most relaxing three days over in Clinton. I had intended to return Monday but DeAnna wouldn't let me. She said I looked terrible and I desperately needed R&R. Well, I of course received a ton of it from her and her husband.

For those who may be watching the miniseries The Hatfields and The McCoys starring Kevin Costner on The History Channel, as is usually the case with the History Channel, even the dramas are vetted and are true to history and this one definitely is. I know that for a fact because I'm lucky enough to have hired (well, I can't technically hire anyone but she was hired on my affirmation) the new Site Manager at the apartments who is a direct Hatfield descendent. She had told the whole history and damn if the TV program doesn't nail all of them! Absolutely fascinating albeit all so very unnecessary (the program is true history meaning it doesn't lean one way or the other) but those were different times. BTW, they are back to feuding again or so Cherie informs me but Thank God this time without firearms.

Left my computer at home so I have some catching up to do. Hope everyone had a marvelous Holiday weekend.

TDH

I opted to pass on this program .My feeling is that if it was good quality it would have been on network TV or HBO .

Henry you are a tv snob The show is getting raves from all I heard. Many times its the netork that pays the higher price that wins..Today they had some of both families on tv, and they have intermarried! So they say, they are getting along, and even had a family reunion with a caged pig..the nemesis of them all.

American Pickers recently purchased some memeorabilia from the family, and, donated to a historical exhibition, so everyone could view it.

I love TV .My cousin Bob who lives in your area produces shows for PBS that I watch always .
I watch shows on AMC that are great . My only feeling is that if this was a great production it would likely be on HBO ,however ,I could be wrong ,Linda

Can't judge it if you’re not watching it.

Hey Todd,
I just had watched the last of the three part series last night and I too was wondering how true to fact this was. Thanks, glad to know...I know I grew up hearing about the famous fued between the Hatfields and Mcoys, but never quite knew the story...I must say, it took a bit after getting through the first hour, but glad I continued with it.

I can't believe you didn't watch it?? For sure, catch it when they put it on again, worth the time, and I didn't know at the time, that it was done darn close to what really happened..
