Question Another column

I mentioned columns on another thread.

Here is a famous ancient site which today has only one column that has been reconstructed. Do you know where it is?

Since the chapiter of the column is missing it is hard to tell what order it belongs to.

Talking Column

Ah, good guesses!

Greece would be an obvious choice.

I would be interested in why you suggest Turkey, Ray. Something in the picture?

Hint -- it is a city mentioned in the Bible.

Seljuck? The burial site of James the Lesser?

Either that or the Agora in Athens, or Katakolon

Three excellent guesses. Wow, St. James the Lesser -- now we are getting sort of obscure!

The Agora in Athens is largely excavated and in some places reconstructed.

Here is a nice overview of the Agora with the Acropolis in the background.

But no, none of those fit.

Another hint -- the presence of the Goddess can still be felt in those ruins. St. Paul preached against her.

Why I said Turkey? Well I have been to many ruins in Turkey and many of them have columns as shown. Now is it in Turkey?

.

You are right, Turkey has lots of ruins and lots of them have columns. Of course, so do Greece and Italy and even Spain.

This is indeed in Turkey.

Cruise stop -- In Turkey -- mentioned in the Bible -- the Goddess -- should point right to it.
