Morning Mates, I have no idea what I'm doing up so early on a Sunday morning, but I couldn't sleep, so here I am!
Had a great time last night at our annual Lobster Carnival Parade with my friend from out of town. We watched the parade, got rained on (it's a tradition!) then went out for Thai food.
My shirt, by the way, says "Just Say No To Pot" with a lobster on it!
My friend and her hubby are coming back today for the antique car show, boat races, and a BBQ at our place. Good times!
Wishing you all a good weather, relaxing Sunday, especially you Todd!
Cock a doodle doo So this is what 5:00 am looks like. Its might early for this gal to be up however today’s the long dreaded drive to Branson MO. We have never been there so I'm looking forward to going somewhere new.
We had a nice cool front move in yesterday afternoon dropping the temperatures in to the low 80’s….felt so god after the string of 100 + temps. Have a great day everyone.

R/D, you needn't worry about anything but a "relaxing day" for me.
Watched the race last night then went right to bed. Awoke about 5 and figured I'd have my morning coffee. As I tried to get out of bed the back pain was absolutely unbearable so I figured, no real reason I had to get up anyway. Then, a half hour later, being an elderly man I HAD to get up. It took me literally five minutes and so I rolled out onto the floor, crawled to the bath room and pulled myself up via the toilet.
I was finally able to get myself into an almost standing position, shuffled into the kitchen and shoved about 400 Mg of Ibuprofen down my throat. I think it's starting to work; at least I hope it is.
Having had multiple back surgeries I literally don't even want to know how bad I was hurt when I fell the other night. I'm hoping it's only inflamed and the Ibuprophen will eventually take care of it.
Supposed to get to only 96 today and then trend a tad cooler as the week progresses and we have some rain.

A gorgeous day here in Beantown.....not sure what's on my agenda today, and, that's a good thing.
My daughter and family are camping this week in the forests of Plymouth, so, most of my week is free!! I also may take the rest of July's, Saturdays off, so, I will really be free!
Bruce will be going back to work tomorrow. I told him not to lift or shlep a thing! His recovery was so quick, and just amazes me.
Some of our breezers will be home tomorrow or Tuesday, and I an looking forward to reading more about this very busy, but great cruise! Imagine Ray on hs scooter, doing it all! Now, with Mike, I wish I was traveling around with he and Betty..what a journey they will have!
Ok, I need breakfast....make it a good one.
Trip, with her book & tea!

Crazy weekend here! My oldest son turned 8 yesterday...boy does time fly! Spent thursday and fridays nights clearing out 5 garbage bags of weeds and such from the yard....it has just been so hot and miserable here that the yard work had been neglected. We had about 20 kids, ranging in ages from 4 to 10 over at the house yesterday, and all the yard work was for nothing....it was too hot to throw them out there.
Today i have my extended family coming over for my sons family party. So i was up early putting my house back together from the chaos of yesterday!
Also Todd, i told my son he could choose any type of cake for his party today...he said "i want mr. Todd's world famous cheesecake" ;-)
After the last 4 days, i am in desperate need of a vacation! *whew*

Good morning from the Arizona Desert where the monsoon is bringing our annual hit of humidity. Normally our heat is a dry heat, but when you combine 110 degrees with our monsoon humidty, it gets downright uncomfortable. Yesterday I spent a good part of the day doing laundry, and the machines are out in the garage............ Wow, was I warm! !
Jose and I will be taking a cruise in September on the Carnival Splendor out of Long Beach, for the FOURTH year in a row! We can drive to LA and avoid the air fare. With the downturn in the building industry since the recession, and my coincident reduction in income, this has made the most financial sense for us the last few years. But we're bound and determined to cruise out of Florida next year, planning for those extra expenses starting now, as long as I don't have any more significant medical expenses like I have the last year or so.
Even though this is the same cruise we've taken several times before, I'm starting to get really excited about the planning. I'm just SOOO ready for a vacation. We used to take one big vacation and several mini ones each year, so I'm starting to get cabin fever since we haven't been anywhere since last September.
Jose is going to Costa Rica in a couple of weeks to see his kids and grandkids, but I'm not going this time. Air fares have risen astronomically. Coach fare to Costa Rica this year is the same $$ as first class two years ago. I'll miss him, and I certainly would like to see his family, but it just makes more sense right now not to spend that extra money.
