I may have mentioned that my dog has been on a course of treatment this past week for an allergy-related skin infection. I have had to wash the affected area twice a day with warm water and an expensive medicated "shampoo".
The interesting thing is, this stuff smells exactly like the Lotus Spa bath products from the cruise ships! A light, pleasant, clean smell, that I remember well because I still have the travel size shampoo, body lotion and chapstick.
I just found it odd that fancy bath products from a cruise line are so similar to a medicated dog shampoo!
That is weird, but nice too for both you and your dog...She must smell wonderful and it brings back cruise memories....Hope it works as good as it smells, let us know.
It is a shame that a medicated shampoo is so expensive. One should always look at the ingredients of any shampoo. Sometimes the ones that are the most expensive shampoos have the same ingredients as the ones that you can buy in the dollar store.
This is really very interesting actually i was already in searching for this
kinds of interested information and i get knowledge from this thread
and thinking to send this great information to my friends....
We had bulldogs for many years. They are subject to skin problems. We tried every sort of thing from sweet smelling to phew!
One of our dogs was losing the hair on her side, and we didn't know why. So we told the vet that. He went through a variety of tests and treatments, and finally diagnosed it as "idiopathic allopecia." That sounded scary so I looked it up.
The root -path means "cause" and idio- means "unknown". Allopecia is the medical term for "hair loss."
So we took her in because we didn't know why she was losing hair. And the vet treated her for "hair loss of unknown cause"! An expensive lesson in Neolatin, I guess.
With my luck I'd end up using dog shampoo that smells like dog shampoo. At least is would match my appearance!

Todd, you're too funny...
By the way, the treatment is finished, and it did wonders for her skin condition, and I am continuing to use it on her chronic red and itchy ears....the best part is, it smells good!
