The Seinfeld story of Festivus...

However the story of Festivus appears to be real according to Wikipedia...

Festivus - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Festivus is a secular holiday celebrated on December 23 as a way to commemorate the holiday season without participating in its pressures and commercialism...

Festivus was conceived by writer Dan O'Keefe and was celebrated by his family as early as 1966. The holiday was later introduced into popular culture by O'Keefe's screenwriter son Daniel on an episode of Seinfeld. The holiday's celebration, as it was shown on Seinfeld, included an unadorned aluminum "Festivus pole", practices such as the "Airing of Grievances" and "Feats of Strength", and the labeling of easily explainable events as "Festivus miracles".

I proudly celebrate festivus with my friends every december 23rd. Complete with 'airing of grievences' , 'feats of strength', and my plain aluminum pole. Makes for a nice tradition for those of us overloaded on the commercialism of Christmas.

Hmmm....

I wonder if my wife knows Festivus is on her birthday.

I would like to celebrate it, too, but something tells me she wouldn't appreciate the attention being taken away from her celebration. Especially the "airing of grievances" part.

Hey....it's a perfect time for her to air her grievances on all you people!

1. It's festivus, so it's expected and required
2. It's her birthday, so she gets a free pass and you can't be mad!

"I gotta lot a problems with you people!! And now you're going to hear them!!!"

Also...there's a scene where george calls jerry needing help. Jerry answers the phone and george goes into a full minute run on sentence freaking out needing help. When he stops, jerry says "who is this" in a condescending tone. George is not in the mood and starts slamming the phone into the wall.

I do this quite often when at work and i answer the phone and people go right into a long rambling issue :-)

The Elaine dancing scene, described by George as a 'full body dry heave, set to music."

I think my favorite is the one in which they were trying to sell a show about nothing to NBC .
It is a personal favorite because I remember my days of trying to sell a show to NBC .
