Good morning Cruisemates friends! Watching the Carnival Magic come in to the pier... what a shock the passengers are going through! When they left last Sunday, the weather was somewhat balmy and warm... mid to upper 80s. This morning, the weather in Galveston is in the mid 50s and very windy! The flags are standing straight out as the wind comes in from the north. Been there, done that!
Just another working day here today. I hope all are doing well and having a restful respite.
Cruised more times than I can remember.
Good people sleep peaceably in their beds at night only because rough men stand ready to do violence on their behalf.
Courage and perserverance have a magical talisman; before which difficulties disappear and obstacles vanish into the air.
Pick your company wisely! Hang around people who are going to help you become all God created you to be.
Good Morning Michael and all Mates to follow.
I thought I started a good morning thread earlier, but it seems to have disappeared into cyberspace....weird.
I will re-post this photo, wishing any Canadian CruiseMates a very Happy Thanksgiving, and a happy Fall to everyone else!
We are headed out today, an hour's drive away , for a fantastic turkey dinner/lunch at our friends'. I hope to take some more fall photos on the way, it is quite a pretty route.
It's a cloudy day but supposed to get sunny later in the day.
Thanksgiving dinner is at my sister's house(which just happens to be right next door). I'll go over and help her prepare things....can't wait for the dressing(which we made last night) cranberries, turkey and my homemade gravy!!! Just LOVE turkey dinner with all the fixings!! As they say on the cruise ship........YUMMY YUMMY TIME
Hope you all have a wonderful day and be nice to yourselves.
It's a cool and crisp morning here in Minnesota. Yesterday was good for the first 3/4 of the day and went down the old porcelain convenience after that. My brain took a vacation in the late afternoon and when I came to around 9:00 p.m. I was totally stuffed up. This morning I now have a full blown head cold. Yuck.
We have the grandkids until late this afternoon. My daughter is doing a lecture today and my SIL is her tech support. My great-nephew has bought his own carpet cleaning franchise and I agreed to be one of his guinea pigs and let him clean the living room carpet. He wants me to give him an honest assessment of his service. I'll see if I have any carpet left this evening.

The weather here today is quite what we used to call "raw" and overcast. Fall has definitely arrived.
It appears you're going to be fixing two Thanksgiving dinners within a couple of months, Trip. If I could get a flight, I'd be there in a heartbeat.
I'm actually going to throw a steak under the broiler since my grill tank is empty. The smoke alarms are guaranteed to prove they both work! Even though it's a gorgeous ribeye, I really don't want it but know I have to eat something and it's quick and easy. I do admit, it seems as if it were only yesterday that I'd fix those big Sunday dinners for just Fran and me the menus for which I used to write in this space.
Everyone in my dwindling family is concerned if I received that shot for chronic back pain while in the hospital that's causing the menningitis. They're afraid that because I was simultaneously ill with an exceptionally severe case of pneumonia that I may not have known it. I know I didn't have the shot because my back situation at that time was immediate (although it is now chronic and will remain so) but to put my brother in Europe, etc., at ease I looked it up and the stuff was sent to just one of those pain clinics in the East Tennessee area and that was in Oak Ridge along with just two other facilities in the state, one in Nashville and the other a "Fur piece away" as they say in these parts. So now I can tell them definitively I didn't receive it.
Hope everyone has a grand Thanksgiving/Sunday wherever you are.

Good afternoon all. I've got all of my chores done for the day. I've got chops bbqing in the slow cooker for supper. It's cool here today. I like a cup of decaf on a cool day. Dad drank coffee every day for breakfast. I made coffee today for the first time since he died. Had me a bit sniffy. I miss the old man.
Anyway, I hope all of my friend north of the border have a wonderful Thanksgiving. Have a great evening all.

I wrote that very thing to JH to send on the the CD of Magic.
Maybe give the pax a heads up to not pack the warmest thing they have to wear!

Good evening mates
I'm enjoying my stay here in Florida. Today I visited with some family and checked out Siesta Key beach and It was just ok, I think Clearwater was much nicer but never the less I had a great time. Happy Thanksgiving to all my Canadian mates!

Good evening from Virginia Beach. Our older daughter, husband, and children were in for the weekend. (It was her class reunion-20 years). That makes me feel old!!! Time has a way of marching by too quickly. Out of habit, I waited for her and her husband to come home; it was 1:30 p.m.. Needless to say, I am a bit tired! Hope my fellow cruisemates from Canada had a wonderful Thanksgiving and that they enjoy all the great leftovers!
