Although I was not planning to return to CM I have just survived 13 days without heat ,hot water and electricity . One of my daughters lost 2/3 of her home and she and her family will be living with my wife and I for the next few months . I plan to cherish every day . I want to thank those of you who have prayed for my family and I and give special thanks to those of you who have reached out to me . Its a miracle that we survived .
My life has changed in many ways ,hopefully for the better .

Welcome back LF, having survived 8 days without power or heat in the deep freeze of the 1998 Ice Storm I know what you've been through!
Glad to hear your family is all safe and with you, and hope homes and property can be restored as soon as possible. The important thing is, you're all still with us.
Welcome Back! I know many people who suffered damage from the storm but I think you have gone through the worst of all those I know. I was always afraid of what might happen knowing your proximity to the water. That's such a shame about your daughter's house. Thank God she has parents such as you!

I am concentrating on cruising and other vacations .In January we are driving to Boston for a few days .We have a bar-mitzvah and we will hopefully get together with relatives .
My daughter cancelled February vacation plans to southern california .

Welcome back "Lakers Fan". Life has been "trying" for many people that were inconvenienced by "Sandy". One of my classmates from Teaneck High School, had a tree go right through her home and another lost their garage and car. Thoughts and prayers go out to all who had to personally deal with "Sandy".
Dear "Lakers Fan" I wish I was young; I graduated from Teaneck High School in 1966! Thanks to Facebook, many of my fellow classmates have "reconnected again". I really miss living in Bergen County but the real estate taxes are very high. When my husband, Rob, got off of active duty in the Navy, we decided to stay here to get "more house for less money".
