Morning Mates, I have the day off as schools are closed here for Remembrance Day. I will be going in to work later at the Y though, as the old Y is closing down and moving in to the brand new facility this week and I am helping with the move. Just as long as they don't ask my back to lift anything!
Meanwhile, we, including Emma and Griffin, are patiently waiting for Lucy to return home today.
Lucy has been in hospital since Fri. having an abcess lanced and drained, on IV antibiotics, anti-inflammatories and re-hydration. Poor baby. We all miss her so much, and we're hoping she will be coming home today.
Good morning Donna and all of our friends to follow. Soon enough Lucy will be back and the world will return to normalcy. Happy Remembrance Day!
Here, the weather is overcast and chilly. At my work assignment, I monitor all of the Port of Houston water sites and looking at the small whitecaps, the overcast skies, and wind blowing makes me feel chilled. The Houston Texans won last night!!! It feels so good after 10 seasons of poor to so-so teams. Otherwise, today is just another day in the world.
Have a wonderful day friends!
Good people sleep peaceably in their beds at night only because rough men stand ready to do violence on their behalf.
Courage and perserverance have a magical talisman; before which difficulties disappear and obstacles vanish into the air.
Pick your company wisely! Hang around people who are going to help you become all God created you to be.
It's COLD!!!!! I can't believe it's only 30 degrees with a 17 degree wind-chill out there. I will be getting my cat’s blood work back today to see if we can narrow down the reason why he has Horned Pads/ Horned claws growing on both his front paws; if blood work shows nothing then they want to biopsy on pad but I’ll have to see if we want to do that after all it could be growing for just some unknown and untreatable reason.
Off to do some real work for a friend out in DeKalb county today so a long day ahead of me.
Good morning. It's chilly here, too. I guess, Tuesday and Wednesday, it will be balmy.
Donna, two things: First, I, too, wish Lucy good health. Second, Mexico City Style Soup. It's offered at Houstons only on Sundays. Keith and I just love it. I don't think Houstons publishes its recipe, but there are an infinite number of variations on the internet.
The one the restaurant makes has a chicken broth base, rice, pieces of chicken, tomatoes, avocado and other fresh veggies, plus strips of tortillas. I don't know what spices they use. If you go google Mexico City Style Soup, you'll find lot of recipies, though not necessarily Houstons.
