Caribbean Princess Review of Sailing 11/24/12 Vol 2
Day 2 - Princess Cays
If Hurricane Sandy damaged Princess Cays it is not evident. It is still a beautiful beach day and that is exactly what we did. We rented a clamshell and enjoyed the beautiful day. The lunch on the beach was burgers, hot dogs and chicken, nothing spectacular but good.
For some strange reason the sailaway party was held tonight rather than departure from Ft Lauderdale. True to form we won nothing from the treasure hunt. It appears that the key to winning prizes is to have a cabin on Aloha deck.
We attended the event for Gold Level (2-5 cruises) of the Captains Circle. It was held in the theater and consisted of a little music from the orchestra and singers, greetings from Dan Stine the cruise director and Captain Kent. After a video presentation on the Royal Princess we were given each a voucher for a free drink, which probably a better deal than the free slop they used to serve at the welcome aboard party. One invitation was drawn for the prize of Elite benefits for the remainder of the cruise. Someone from Aloha deck won of course.
For dinner we again ate in the Island Dining Room and each had the surf and turf which was a small petite filet accompanied by three shrimp. I had the sugar free chocolate mousse cake which was excellent. After dinner we went to the show Do You Wanna Dance. The show was good and well produced. There were three shows to accommodate more patrons. The show was 30 minutes. We went dancing and then hit the International Café for a bedtime snack.
