Monday and it's Snowing!
Morning Mates, Monday already, what happened to the weekend?
Snow is falling gently at the moment, I'm hoping it doesn't amount to much before I have to leave for work.

Yesterday we had a wonderful afternoon full of good friends, good food, drinks, a little snow, and lots of laughs. We are so fortunate to have made some very good friends here in our new home, and they helped put me in the Christmas spirit, finally!
Much to my amazement, little Griffin was the perfect gentleman, did not get into any trouble, and actually fell asleep on people's feet or laps. Who knew?

Well better get some breakfast and get a start on my last 4-day work week before Christmas. Can't wait till it's over!

Good morning Donna, and all those to follow, from a sunny Texas.

We are a long way from having snow here. The temps are mild, and will go way down by Wednesday.

We arrived home yesterday from our trip. Josh had done a good job maintaining the house while we were away, so there was little to do, but wash clothes, and football.

Today, I need to go grocery shopping, and start wrapping gifts.

My thoughts and prayers are still with those who have suffered loss.

Take care all

Good morning Donna, Luanne, Sharon and all who follow.

It's a dreary overcast day here in upper East Tennessee, albeit it's not cold.

Wonder if anyone saw the segment on the Concordia on 60 Minutes last night. If not, suffice it to say they are working on righting the ship which will certainly take more than abundance of engineering skills. They plan to have it upright sometime next summer. They're actually going to right it onto a specially built steel platform. They have round the clock divers working on preparations including preventing the ship from sliding into deep water. The divers are housed on a special barge that has been placed very close to the wreck. What they worry most about is that storms could break up the ship before she can be moved. Were that to happen the sections would indeed slide down into deep water and result in an environmental catastrophe for that pristine area. Already there's more than enough debris and other detritus littering the ocean floor.

The chief engineer of the project says that even though one can't really see the effect of the sea on the wreck, Concordia is indeed suffering degredation with every wave that hits her and it is somewhat of a race against time before she does physically break up. He has every confidence, however, that the project will go just fine. They already have dozens of divers from all over the world who work in shifts. The divers can only be down 45 minutes at a time and must get into a decompression chamber within five minutes of arriving on the surface.

Once she has been righted, Concordia will be towed to La Spezia (I think I've spelled that correctly) where she'll be broken up. This effort culminates in a 400 to 500 million dollar bill.

Although we're all heartbroken over that horrific shooting in Connecticut, I nevertheless hope each one of you has as good a week as possible.

Good Morning cruisemates! Cool temps in the 50s in Scottsdale, but it's better than the heavy rains from Fri. and Sat.

I'm still depressed about the Fri. events in Newtown, as the first two( of too many) young six yr. olds are being buried today. This tragedy has had me shedding tears every day.

No plans at all on my schedule today. Once the day warms some I may just sit out on the patio and watch the bad golfers go by... always makes me feel better about my game :)

I hope that everyone listened to President Obama's words last evening .

Monday and It's Snowing
Good morning. It's chilly and overcast with more rain coming in tonight, we're told. We need it all.

Let us begin the week by not only being thankful for our loved ones, but by moving on and seeing the bright spot in the coming holiday and celebrating it as it deserves.

It is now afternoon here in Houston and the weather is sunny and getting spring-like. Have to keep the news off because of the continuous coverage of the shootings. Depressing...

I have not seen it in a while, but they say that it's cold and white.
