All this cold weather has gotten Rob and I anxious to book another cruise. We are going on Royal Caribbean's Grandeur of the Seas, out of Baltimore on November 16th. Since Thanksgiving is two days after the cruise ends and we are always in that area for Thanksgiving, we figured that it would mean one less trip to Baltimore. It is so great when you don't have to pay for airfare!
We've been on the Grandeur three times, but it has gone through a $50million renovation and based on the pictures my clients have shown me, it's now completely different. So it'll be interesting to see how it's changed. But based on what we've seen and heard from our clients, it'll be a really nice cruise.

Where does your cruise sail to ? We are thinking of doing a cruise leaving from Baltimore possibly with friends living in MD and or VA .
Since only Carnival cruises from and returning to NY we are checking out other ports to sail from .We've gone from NJ and are now considering Baltimore and Boston.

Lakers Fan,
NCL also sails out of Manhattan. There are number of NCL and Carnival ships sailing. Carnival Splendor, Carnival Glory, Miracle and Norwegian Breakaway, Jewel and Gem are the ones I can think of.
Take care,
Mike

Yes ,I forgot about NCL ,actually a Senior moment here as we are sailing on NCL this spring .
Friends have cruised out of New York and Bayonne; they said that it is very expensive to park at these two embarkation ports. It might be "worth your while", to leave from Baltimore. Not only is Baltimore less crowded, but it is "cheaper to park your car there". On past cruises, out of Baltimore we have me a lot of people that come from south Jersey where it is "equidistant" from Bayonne, New York, or Baltimore.
Cruiseplanner, I didn't know about the renovation of the Granduer of the Seas; We were on it, several years ago, when a rudder broke coming back from Florida; thanks so much for sharing!
Balabusta, I congratulate you on your cruise booking.

I've met Manuel and his DW ,we've gotten together for lunch many times . I've also met a few CM people on cruises .
Re cruising from NY or Bayonne . As we reside in NY we can always find a relative or frient to take us to the cruiseport and pick us up . In 2012 we cruised from Bayonne and left our car at a friends house in NJ . Driving to the port in Boston would be approximately 4 1/2 hours and about the same for Baltimore . We have several friends living in Maryland and also have friends in Arlington and Fairfax,VA .
