Sunbathing

Sunbathing appears to be the favorite activity of millions of people all over the world . When you are young you don't worry about the negative aspects .

My father was diagnosed with skin cancer 40 + years ago .This did not deter me from worshipping the sun.

On monday I will be having my 4th.cancer surgery .If only I thought of the consequences ahead of time.

LF - hope your surgery goes well.

I'll probably continue to punish my skin until it is too late.

Wishing you all the best, and, a speedy recovery.

I too, have had several cancers removed from my face, and back. Too much fun in the sun boating, and riding motorcycles when I was a young man. Hope your surgery goes well, and they get all of that nasty stuff off your body.

Good luck LF. Hope everything goes well for you.

LF, I too wish you good luck with your surgery.

I spend quite a bit of time in the sun but I do wear a hat and see a dermatologist on a regular basis.

Sunbathing

My husband and I have had numerous skin cancers removed. A few days ago, I had two more biopsies done. One other, recently frozen, has developed an infection. Diabetes causes infections. I, too, am paying the price of sunbathing when I was young.

I am speaking for myself. Since I am of retirement age people apreciate it if I cover up. LOL

Here is a different health take on sun exposure from a dermatologist:

The sun is a great source of Vitamin D .My problems with the sun are from many years ago when I worshipped the sun . My skin was so dark that once when I was stopped by a cop for a traffic violation he had great difficulty believing that I was caucasian.

Aerogirl March 21st, 2013 01:23 PM

D/H thinks I'm crazy because during the winter on sunny days I pull my truck out of the garage and park it in the sun and then sit in it with the seat back and listen to spa like music. I'm getting my vitamin D as well as doing something good for my mental state of mind, people should try it, its very relaxing.

I have been lucky so far. I recently had a check-up and my dermatologist said that my skin was in fine shape.

Paradise Beach on the Greek island of Mykonos is my favorite nude beach...I wonder if the natives have a higher rate of skin cancer
