Default Carnival Ship Maintenance

Does anyone know the Carnival dry-dock or refurb schedules? It would be interesting to compare it to major maintenance performed by other cruise lines.

I would also be interested to know how many ships have a similar electrical system design to the latest afflicted vessels (like Costa), and whether they are also experiencing problems.

One report said that the back-up generator failed and the propulsion systems work on that system so the ship can't move not that they don't want to chance moving it. Don't know so can't say.

Also online sails are down 13% since the Triumph mishap.

I can't find any other cruise line with problems like Carnival.
I now have to say I do wish I could just cancel my December cruise and not loose my $250.00 deposit, no more early saver for me!

I too have wondered for awhile now, if they do some scheduled maintenance that could prevent some of these problems??

Yes, Donna, they run those engines/generators 24/7/365.
They are not designed to last forever. Carnival is starting to look like a "Mickey Mouse" cruiseline, but thats an insult to Disney

There also seems to be a major design flaw in the electrical system, on more than one ship...

I too often wondered what their routine maintenance schedules were like. Before I retired, my job required me to do routine maintenance. It was done on an one going basis. We checked both, operating systems and back up systems. An ounce of prevention.....

Seadog: Im not talking about day-to-day maintenance. Im talking about where massive diesel engines have to be completely stripped down, and the worn-out parts replaced, before we have a "situation".
