Cruise passenger to spend 12 years in Bermudan prison
A court in Bermuda has sentenced a Georgia woman to 12 years in prison for attempting to smuggle cocaine into the country. Hope she enjoys her stay.

What a pity. If my math is correct, that is almost 8 pounds of coke strapped in a girdle. This is not the kind of favor one does for a random ship cleaner.

“Since her arrest, her behaviour has been exemplary,” Mr Dismont said, adding that Carmichael had “made a 360 degree about-turn in terms of her attitude and depression”.
That would mean she is dealing with depression and a bad attitude again. a 180 degree about-turn would be more desirable.

Yes, somehow the story of "well I was just walking around the ship when the guy vacuuming the stairway stopped me and asked if I'd mind carrying 8 pounds of cocaine off the ship" wouldn't play well if I were a juror or the judge. This started long before she even booked the cruise.

That goes with the old adage that you reap what you sow. Everyone knows drug laws are much tougher in other countries. She was a fool if you ask me.
