Yes, we have often ordered Bon Voyage gifts, usually "tuxedoed" chocolate covered strawberries, or a bottle of wine or two, very nice. We've also ordered decorations for Bon Voyage or Happy Birthday, they do a nice job with that too.
The reason I asked about this:
A few years back my Girlfriend and I booked our first cruise together, I wanted this to be a very special cruise and had pre-ordered a dozen Red roses to be delivered to our cabin on formal night (I had brought a ring). After a fantastic day at Grand Cayman, the roses arrived as she was dressing for dinner. When she came out, she asked me how she looked. I gave a slight head tilt and said something was missing and as she started checking her dress, I brought out the roses and dropped to one knee. Luckily for me she said “Yes.” It’ll be 7 years this June.
The “Bon Voyage” gift was icing on the cake for me.
That's an awesome story!! Thanks for sharing! Such a wonderful romantic moment in your lives that I know you will always remember with very fond memories.
Our first cruise many years ago was to celebrate our anniversary and we enjoyed it so much, we've now been on 45 cruises! And we celebrated our 40th anniversary last year by taking a cruise in Tahiti. It really is a romantic way to celebrate special occasions, that's for sure.
As for the gifts, we order them on a regular basis for our long-time clients and they are always very happy to get them since it adds a little extra to the excitement and enjoyment of the cruise. Of course, if you're not sure exactly what to get, if you're giving it to someone else, you can always do onboard credit.
Also, there are independent companies that specialize in providing onboard gifts and their menu of items is usually alot more extensive than what the cruise line provides.
