That's so sad!

When I was about 12 years old, I had a big crush on her. The Mickey Mouse Club was one of the first shows that I liked when I came to the USA as an eleven year old.

Of course I got to see all of Annette's movies.

She is at peace now, becoming ill in 1992, she has suffered for years. I think everyone loved her the best, on the MMC....and the beach Blanket Bingo movies were part of my teenage years..

They are singing, Meeska Mooska, Mousketeers in heaven today.

This harkens back to a more innocent time, the 'beach party' movies she did with Frankie Avalon, Disney, and so on. It was good clean entertainment that is clearly a generational thing, meaning you have to be over 50 to have seen it and perhaps enjoyed it. I always looked at those beach movies as simple fun and a little escape for 90 minutes. Nothing high brow about them but they made you feel good. And wasn't that the point?

God bless the soul of Annette Funicello.
