Seems odd to me that they would pull completely out of Puerto Rico.
I have enjoyed our visits to San Juan. Since I am not a Carnival cruiser, I hope that Royal and Celebrity continue to visit that beautiful Island.

Will be interesting to see the Southern itineraries as they home port in Barbados. They can certainly hit the same stops as they do from SJ but could also head south from Barbados.

I just saw this response John Heald made, in his blog regarding this question..
I see a few comments below quoting a news paper that says Carnival will leave San Juan as a home port next year. Just to state that we have no plans to phase out our homeport operation from San Juan. We have already started selling cruises from San Juan through April 2014, and plan to open additional cruises for sale through Spring 2015 within the next few weeks.
