Linda, I thought of you first. So glad that you are okay. Many thoughts and prayers to those who have been hurt today.

Let us hope that this was not an act of terrorism.

How very sad, I just can't believe it when things like this happen.
Prayers going out to all of these people.

The NY Post is reporting a Saudi national is being detained at a Boston hospital as a suspect in the bombings. This is the only report I've seen about a suspect and it has not been mentioned in the press conferences from officials in Boston.

Trip,

The best place to be right now is inside your home. My assistant editor at Cruisereviews lives in Boston too and I've been in contact with her. I was worried since she likes to run and might have been at the scene. Thankfully both of you are safe!

Trip, I too thought of you first, you are the only person I know in Boston, and I hoped you weren't working or watching anywhere near the blast site. Glad to know you're ok. Another sad day in American history....

As a resident of NYC for 59 years I would not necessarily believe the Post . No other media is reporting this .

I can't believe there are such monsters walking this earth who would do such things! It's all so very sad! We'll be hearing about this for a long time to come. I hope the people who did this are caught.

The "Saudi National" story appears to be false.

I hope that the media shows some restraint when reporting on "Persons of Interest". All we need is another Richard Jewell debacle.

Take care,
Mike

Terrorist act for sure. Weather the person or persons are from this country or some other country this is an act of terrorism. Heaping death and destruction on unsuspecting people is reprehensible. My prayers are with all that are impacted by this violence.

Okay I need to stop looking now cause I'm freaking myself out. But here's a article. Under the comments a little ways done Dzhokhar Tsamaev makes a comment. Thin Slicing Turns Tragic | UMD Blinks in 2011:
BTW I think the brother that was shot is Tamerian Tsarnaev did was boxing. But I'm not sure.

We are all watching this unfold in front of us,w ith our jaws on the floor. While I am not close to this town, I do know someone in that neighborhood, safe under lockdown.

It seems this one, on the run, has enjoyed all that our fair cty has to offer,[how nice for him]....and his classmates are in shock beacause, as is so oftern the case..."he was such a smart, nice kid!" I hope they get him right between the eyes!

The remaining terrorist doesn't want to be taken alive, is likely wearing a suicide vest, so I'd think 'shoot on sight' is the unofficial word among more than a few police officers. Works for me.

I can't watch, but I am listening. WHY? Young, cute, but is so evil they can put a bomb down next to a child.

They had so many chances to make something of themselves, and they pick this to follow.

Linda, I am glad you are safe. With you in my heart.

Looks like I was right about the older brother being a boxer. They have the spelling of Tamerlan vs Tamerian but sometimes people from forgien countries have different spells of their name.

I have a friend who is a retired Federal Agent and while he is not going to discuss with me anything he may be privy to he told me earlier today not to be surprised if it turns out that the 2 brothers might have been angered by the killing of Bin Laden by the US .

I agree but this seems different. Richard Jewell was a hero falsely accused. He never had a shoot out with police or killed an MIT officer. So this is completely different. I was stating to my hubby the news media should wait to be certain before writing there stories. CNN falsely reported an arrest than had to retract the story. What happened with Richard Jewell should never happen.

Boston Marathon bomber manhunt: City on lockdown as authorities hunt for bomb suspect
Quote:
The mayhem began at approximately 10:20 p.m. Thursday when police said the bombing suspects robbed a 7-Eleven store in Cambridge. Minutes later, police said, the men shot and killed an MIT campus officer, Sean Collier, 26, responding to the robbery call. The terror suspects then carjacked a Mercedes-Benz SUV with the driver inside and fled, eventually letting the driver go.
