Default Are you working on your "Bucket List?"

For those cruisemates that have Bucket Lists are you actively working on them? Since we retired we have been working on ours which mainly involves travel. We are just back from visiting New Orleans, Memphis (Graceland) and Nashville (Grand Ole Opry). Still on our list is China, Indonesia, Australia, New Zealand, some of South America, an African Safari and more of Europe. Hopefully we will come up with the money before our time runs out.

We've been working our our travel list since the day we got married 44 years ago, and have made reasonable progress.

I've been to 46 of the 50 states and would like to run the table. We're going to New Mexico this year so that's one of them. Montana soon, we hope. The other two are Nebraska (of all places) and Idaho. If anybody knows of any good excuses to go to them--other than checking them off the list--please let me know.

Terry's been to fewer states but more countries--about 70 to my 65. We still need to do Australia and New Zealand, plus Vietnam, Cambodia and the Mekong. And although we've been to Turkey, Istanbul has eluded us, and we'd really like to spend some time there.

Other than that, it's a matter of going back to see the places--and especially the people--we love.

I can honestly say I visited all 50 States before I was 21. (On the way over to Vietnam, we stopped in Alaska to refuel and on the way back, we stopped in Hawaii to refuel - wasn't there long, but I was there. Since then, we spent 3 weeks in Hawaii and 2 weeks in Alaska to make sure I could really count them.) Plus, we'd been to Canada and Mexico on many occasions by car. But until we started cruising, we'd never really been outside the U.S.

Then we started our Bucket List and have crossed off alot of places we wanted to see; the Great Wall of China, the Parthenon in Athens, Buckingham Palace, Olympia, Bora Bora in Tahiti, Hawaii, Alaska, Hong Kong, Shanghai, Hiroshima,, Beijing, the Matterhorn, the Neuschwanstein Castle, St. Petersburg Russia, the White Cliffs of Dover, Venice, Paris, Prague, Sweden, Denmark, Amsterdam, river cruising in Europe, traveling Europe by train, and not to mention all the islands in the Caribbean and many other places we've been.

But we still have many places we want to see, in no particular order; the Great Pyramids, Cairo, Petra, the Taj Mahal, Rio de Janeiro, Machu Picchu, Australia, Fiji, Budapest, Singapore, Rome, Ireland, Scotland, Antarctica, Easter Island, So. Africa, and numerous other places around the world.

Needless to say, we have the travel bug and have always enjoyed everywhere we've ever gone and always excited to visit new places. Have the fun is in the planning for the next trip. So we firmly believe in having a Bucket List, that's for sure!

I'm very slowly working on mine. I still have too many things going on in my day to day life and lack funds to do everything I want, although I've marked off some things the past few years.

We are actively working on our bucket list. Last year, we made it to Antarctica to gain our seventh continent. Next year we are sailing the Northwest Passage; also on our bucket list. I have been to 45 states and over 70 countries. This year we will pick up only one new country (Scotland) as we had to cancel a cruise to Asia. Next year, two cruises but only two new countries (Greenland (actually Denmark) and St Barts). We can't wait until we retire and get the chance to travel more.

We are working on ours, but time and money is short, so we have narrowed it down to things we want to say and do, to make lasting memories.
