Default Will this replace curling irons?

Okay I'm a licensed hairstylist so I see things way before other people. I was in a beauty supply store that only sells to license stylist and I saw this curling machine. This device appears to have been released in the UK first. But now it's coming to the USA. This is not a curling iron it's a curling machine. I'm always interested in creative destruction. For example the creation of the DVD ended Video Tapes. Cell Phone ending pay phone. CDs replaced records. So my question for this group is do you think this curling machine will replace a curling iron?

This is a very expensive professional product so it has the price tag to match. This is available to the general public I checked Amazon and it was almost $100 more than I (as a license stylist) would pay. This video will say the name of the product, I don't own this device. I just saw it today. I'm not saying go out and buy one. I'm just showing it because I think it's amazing and wanted to see what you think.

What I find interesting is when you actually want to look to see how it works, the camera moves to another shot, of the crowd, etc..I never really saw a close up of how it works. I have short hair, so,not for me.I would like to see it done in person though, maybe for my daughter,.

I saw it in person and it was quite impressive. They don't go on sale at my beauty supply until next month. But for a professional that does a lot of prom and wedding hair this thing would be awesome.

I don't need it.

My hair is naturally curly.

The videos are kind of annoying if you skip to 1 minute in the second video that takes you right to them using the machine. I think this would be awesome to take on my cruise. Because of how easy it is.

TM it's a good thing you have curly hair because your hair's way to short for this machine.

With a bit of wax these guys could use it and their beards would look lovely. This guy loves it.

Have you timed it, to see if it works faster? Looks like it might take a bit longer.

Totally useless for those of us with short to medium length hair. Would not spend a penny on it!

actually the second video shows Medium length hair. So it works on Long to Medium length hair for short hair it is useless.

Luanne I know it would be faster. The 8 seconds, 10 seconds or 12 seconds would be the same timing as a regular curling iron to heat the curl. Where you save time is on rolling the hair. For a stylist that does weddings this is a time saver and protects the hands from carpal tunnel.

Here is the normal way stylist curl hair. This is a Marcel curling iron this is what a good stylist would use not that spring loaded junk that doesn't heat up and make a lasting curl. Picture a stylist doing a wedding party of 5 ladies with long hair using this technique VS using the Miracurl.

Mike M too funny. My hubby rolled his eyes that I got so excited about this product. Like I haven't seen that man lose it over a screwdriver that angles making it easier to get into tight spots. Or that electronic garbage can. Seriously how can a man get that excited over a garbage can. Men are strange.

Men are strange?????

I have yet to spend $150 on a haircut (soooorrry.... "hairstyle")
or $500 on a pair of shoes.

Or $50 x 12 for pilates courses, and $60 x 10 for Yoga courses, and Zumba etc etc.
Not to mention the $150 a pop for the outfits to go with the above. Lululemons I think they are called... and tend to be transparent.

How about $4.59 for a bottle to squirt stuff into my water.... (to turn it into soda pop minus the bubbles,
which costs less and tastes better incidentally)

Men can buy a shipping container of screwdrivers, and still have money left over to buy women shoes.

(an afterthought: A screwdriver at Wal-Mart is $2.49 for a decent one. My wife would only buy the pink-handled one,
which was EXACTLY the same as the other ones... just $6.99 - "specially-priced" for females)

I don't squirt stuff into my water? Why would I do that when the filtered water from my fridge is perfect. Haircut at Supercuts or Great Clips for $15 unless they are having a sale and it's $7.99. But I can watch the stylist and know who has be the most skill. Yoga and Zumba classes come with my gym membership at $10 per month with $29 yearly fee. I looked but Payless shoe source doesn't have shoes for $500. Sounds like you don't know how to shop. I do have special exercise bras but that is needed expensive I don't want black eyes.

For the record mens toys are just as expensive as lady's toys. 55 inch Big screen TV $1000, Sports Car $25K to $40K, Table saw, drill press, lathe, scroll saw etc $1000s for dollars all together. Fish license $45 per year, Fishing pole $150 and lures $30 a piece for the magic lure that catches all the fish. I could go on to hunting, fixing the car, IPADs and all electonric crap that didn't exsist 20 years ago but now men can't live without it. But I think I have made my point.

Are you saying my husband is not a man? Because I evidence that proves he is. They won't let me post that video.
