It's a sultry day today in upper East Tennessee with a forecast high in the mid eighties and very humid.
Was going to fix a corned beef brisket yesterday evening but after having Sunday dinner with my "adopted" granddaughter and chauffeur at Cheddars following Church, decided to put that off until today.
That and "piddlin'" around the house and running some errands in awhile will constitute the rest of my day.
Hope everyone has a great week!

Mid 80's with sun to start and rain to end the day in NW Ohio. Nothing much happening around here, just same old same old. Still playing a nasty game of catch up since vacation. I guess I am in vacation mode yet!! Oh well, will get done what I can and the rest will have to wait. Have a good day to all!
We are waiting for the date of our closing on the sale of our property in Ct.
It will be easier to handle our lives and our trips once we downsize to just one house.
I wish you all a nice day.

I too am playing catch up today. Last week was a whirlwind for our family, it was our county fair. Our oldest granddaughter was in 4H for the first time and showed market chickens. She did very well with the judging and finished 3rd in her class and 9th overall out of 48. That meant she got to sell her chickens at the poultry auction on Thurs. Her mother made up cards with a picture of her holding the chickens along with info on her placements from judging. Those were then handed out to many of our local businesses that bid on the kids livestock. Thurs. night came and a group of 10 businesses had went together, me included, and she rec'd $775.00! Mamaw & Papaw are very proud of her. Most all of the kids who were in the auction donated a portion of their win to a local family who had just lost their 5 yr old son in a freak accident. Don't know what the final count on funds raised was but it sure was great of those kids to think of others in their time of need.
Today is laundry, housework and D/H is mowing the yard. Need to get as much done outside as possible cause the forecast isn't looking good for the rest of the week here.
Todd, good to hear you are doing ok. Love ya!
I am late to the party but I've been up since 4:30 a.m.. We had a great weekend at my brother's lake home and enjoyed friends, family and fishing. We had a great fish fry and get together.
We arrived home yesterday afternoon and made a quick dinner of steak, leftover potato salad and some sweet corn we picked up on the way home. After that I was dog tired and I was out like a light at 6:30 p.m.. That's why I was wide awake at 4:30. I did some dusting and broke down a lot of boxes we had stored in the basement. My gosh, half the clutter was empty cardboard boxes.
I also booked two hotels for Betty's European vacation that is coming up in just three short weeks. I only booked two hotels because they've only decided on two places they will be and what dates they will be there. I told my daughter and Betty that if they decide to wing it, be prepared to pay $$$ for a hotel. We'll see how well they do when they send me the location and I try to get them something reasonable. I'm acting as their remote booking agent.
Sue: I remember the fun of 4H and the sadness when I had to sell my cow. However, I did enjoy my portion of the money.
I hope everyone has a great and enjoyable August week.
