Morning mates, we must have broken a record of consecutive gorgeous days - beautiful sunny days, not too hot, and comfortable cool evenings. I am loving the end of summer!
Yesterday we were invited to friends' for dinner; they were 2 separate friends, both in their 50's, who I introduced last year, and they have recently announced their "relationship" and moved in together. This dinner party was a celebration for them, and there were 11 of us for a wonderful dinner, drinks, laughs and conversation. So wonderful to see my friends so happy.
Today, it's "back to the coal mines", aka the front garden. I am determined to finish it!
Have a good one!
Betty has gone on a de-cluttering rampage. I was the one who started it by getting rid of the old boxes and unneeded "stuff" from the basement but now she has taken it to the closets and drawers. She's on her third lawn bag of old clothes, shoes and other things. There are two bags for the trash. Right now I'm hiding in fear that I may go into a bag.
Yesterday was a heavy cleaning of bathrooms and kitchen and then some cooking creativity. We had some chicken carcass in the freezer so I decided to make some chicken stock to freeze. I cooked it down for two or three hours with the standard carrots, celery and onions but I had some leftover leek tops and fennel tops and threw them in. It was really good. I figured what the heck make supper. I strained it out, added carrots and cooked them up, hit it with the immersion blender and then added rice, spicy sausage and a pack of the Trader Joe's seafood medley, and made a real good "whatever". I had leftovers for breakfast. I wish I remembered everything else I put in it.
Well: I better switch locations before Betty and the garbage bag find me. Have a wonderful Sunday! If you don't hear from me just check the Salvation Army Drop Box.
