Default Friday...Ding, Dong, the bells are gonna chime..!

Good morning all.

Up in the morning before the rising sun....

The reason for the excert from My Fair Lady is that tomorrow our youngest son is getting married, and today will be filled with a gazillion tasks that my better half says need to be done. Having been wed for 49+ years, I have learned to assume my "Yes, dear" persona at time like this, and question nothing.

They are being wed on the Connecticut shore in a town called Madison, at the Madison Beach hotel. Probably no one save Manuel will recognize the town, but it is on Long Island sound, and the hotel is directly on the water. It is a beautiful venue. It is a small wedding, around 60 total.

Well, I have bored everyone enough, so to all who follow, enjoy the day and for those of us SOTB, the long week end. The weather here in the Nutmeg state will be humid with a chance of a thunderstorm, but mostly inland, so the odds of good weather for the wedding (late in the afternoon on Saturday) are favorable.

I have just been summoned to do something, so I am out of here.

"Coming, dear...."

Take care all....

Good morning everyone and congratulations Sid on the upcoming wedding. I see you also have been trained well. I know of those "situations" where you just "Shut up and do what you are told."

Well our boat outing was fun while it lasted. We zipped around the lake for a while, gave a couple of tubing rides to the kids and then Betty was going to water ski. After about 30 seconds the motor just lost power. We limped back to the dock and then loaded it on the trailer and took it back to the repair shop. This is the third time in a month it's been there. I know it's the fuel pump that was replaced two weeks ago. I conveyed to them my disappointment and I think they listened. I should be able to pick it up today. I know that this is the last time I take it to them for repairs.

If we get the boat back today we'll take it out for a test run, otherwise I'm not sure what we'll get up to. We have the grandkids for one more day so we want to make it fun. The temps have lowered so an outside excursion may be in the works.

We have a free weekend at a downtown hotel so Betty and I will take advantage of that on Sunday/Monday. We'll shuttle over to the State Fair on Sunday and just enjoy a day of room service and vegging on Monday. Betty leaves next week for a month in Europe so we can enjoy some time together before we meet up in England on October 1st.

Well I hope everyone has a great Labor Day weekend.

Take care,
Mike

Morning Mates, and congratulations to Sid on the upcoming marriage of your son. Sounds like they picked a lovely spot for the ceremony.
Took me a while to figure out SOTB, but I assure that we celebrate the long weekend NOTB as well!
It's our last hurrah of summer, before everyone heads back to school and work next week.

The weather is yucky today, temps dipped to about 15C or 60ish F. I plan to spend time in the garage finishing off preparations for the big garage sale tomorrow!

Good Morning

Congrats Sid on the wedding, may they share a lifetime of happiness.

We have the mud & tape guy here working on the basement, D/H & D/S attempts on doing it themselves didn't go too well, hanging the drywall no problem mud and tape not so good.

Hope everyone as a safe and fun Labor Day weekend.

Over my lifetime I have found the wisdom to know what I do well and do it myself. I have also found the wisdom to know what I don't do well and hire someone else to do it. It has saved my sanity, marriage and is usually less expensive.

Any major project that involves carpentry or precision (laying tile) I won't even consider doing. Electrical is a piece of cake. Basic plumbing is ok but if it involves soldering, or welding, I won't even attempt it.

I know that when it is all done you're going to love you new remodel.

Take care,
Mike

Default Friday...Ding, Dong, the Bells are Gonna Chime

Good morning. Another hot, muggy one. Yesterday, it was 106.

Sid, congratulations. I hope your family has a wonderful time.

Jury duty is over. Like, Luanne, I'm going to run errands and do things I can't do tomorrow when my DH takes my car.

Breakfast now and the doctor for Keith in a bit.

Have a good day, all.

Judy

I knew it was beyond his ability to do it especially to my liking, I just had to wait for him to figure it out. If nothing else it kept him out from under my feet for awhile

Thanks, D/S will be happy to have his "Teen Cave" back.

Sid, congratulations on your son's wedding.

I do recognize the town and of course I am very familiar with the Ct. shore.
That's where I spent many days in the summer.

Good luck prepping for the wedding. Last time I helped out with one of those it was go go go, to the point no one ended up eating until the reception at 9 o'clock. Hope the weather is lovely and your son and his partner enjoy numerous years of happiness together.
