Some of you will remember that Keith's brother, Wendell, was paralyzed from West Nile Disease. This happened nine years ago. He has tried determinedly not to be bound to a wheelchair. Friday, his knees collapsed. He fell in the kitchen, hit his head on the glass front of the stove. He did not lose consciousness, did not have a concussion. But in an MRI, the drs. found blood pooling in his upper spine (nape?) and had surgery. Wendell is 85.
Keith will call his wife tomorrow. We might work in a quick trip to Phoenix before Keith's knee surgery depending on that conversation.
CruiseMates' prayers have always counted big time. I hope your prayers will do so now.
“Twenty years from now you will be more disappointed by the things that you didn’t do than by the ones you did do. So throw off the bowlines. Sail away from the safe harbor. Catch the trade winds in your sails. Explore. Dream. Discover.“
We received an e-mail from Wendell's son this morning. Wendell had a good day on Monday. The nurses got him sitting up. To do that without great pain was a vast improvement over Friday. It doesn't look like Keith will need to go to Phoenix before his own surgery.
